I've had my 4 Runner since 1995. Its a 1990 model, with v6. I have an issue sometimes, in hot weather. 4 Runner runs great, its a manual transmission, V6 engine. Now that it is above 96 degrees here in Arizona, after driving awhile, and I shut off vehicle in a parking lot, I go into a store. I come out in 5-10 minutes, and try and start. Blue smoke comes out tailpipe, I smell a little gas. It acts like its flooded. If I don't depress gas pedal, it will likely start after cranking the starter maybe 10 times. But if I push gas pedal, it acts like its flooding. Once I get it running, it is fine. This doesn't happen all the time.
In Cold weather, starts fine but within 5 minutes while I'm driving it may stall at a stop light unexpededly. Scares the crap out of me.
While driving freeways & around town, no issues. Fuel filter has been changed. Is this a cold start circuit issue? My hot water pump changed 1 year ago.
