4 wheel parts west covina

Bought some wheels online at 4wheelparts for store pick up at west covina. Asked them how much they will charge to put my stock tires to the new wheels and mount it, and then wheel balancing. They also mentioned about puting sensors. They are charging me $250 +. Is this reasonable? Im calling rock tech off road in La Habra in am. Im also thinking about taking it to my local mechanic, maybe its way cheaper.

I believe discount tire does it for $25-75/tire. It's been a few years since I've had them do that for me.

when i bought tires on their site a few weeks ago they offered 10% off install. i used the coupon and they charged me $100 flat to mount and balance 4 tires. the wheels were off the vehicle and new so they did not have to unmount anything. just a mount and balance job.

so taking into consideration that in your situation they will need to put the vehicle on the lift, unmount tires from old wheels, tpms sensor change over, remount tires on new wheels, balance. it sounds like they were just "ball parking" the quote.

i'd look else where anyways, the techs didn't seem to care much about scuffing up the lip on my BRAND NEW wheels, and they mounted 2 tires with the wrong side facing out. a careless bunch of techs there.

The American Tire Depot in La Mirada m&b for $11 a tire. It's where I always go! I avoid 4WP at all costs...

I did something similar to you at the 4WP in Reno. I bought new wheels and tires, but had them take the TPMS sensors out of my stock trail wheels. I also needed an alignment since I had just installed my lift, so the total for everything was $175. I placed the order on the phone and asked him if there were any coupons he could apply for free mounting and balancing or something similar, and I think he was able to use the "10% install" off code. It ended up being something like $80 for mounting and balancing and then he charged me an extra $25 to take the TPMS sensors out of the old wheels and install them in the new ones. $250 definitely sounds high, but I bought tires at the same time, so that could be why they were willing to do it for less. Even so I would tell them that sounds at least $100 to much.
