Started on the roll bar as well, picked up a tool box from craftsman that I'll add to it.

Also picked up a few more parts, front and rear ARB's, 4:88's, and a tacoma frame and front susp. I'll take the 3rd out of it and send that in to get the gears and lockers put in.

They are 17x9.5 with 4" backspace. I'm not sure if they're going to work. I read your build and I like the way yours look, I think these might be to wide. Yours are 8.5 wide, correct?

Yes. I had originally ordered mine not powder coated (like yours) but apparently the mold for these wheels in our bolt pattern and 8.5" wide is out of commission and will be for a long time to come. I got the last peace'd together set of these wheels in our bolt pattern and 8.5" wide. They offered to get me the 9.5" wide ones but I just didn't feel that would give any bulge to the side wall. Either way they make a great product and I hope they end up working out for you.

Keep up the good work I can tell I'm going to dig this rig.

Unless the 3rd out of a Taco is a TRD, you're not going to fit it into the 4Runner.

Tacoma's use 8.4" thirds, and 4Runners use 8".

Guess I misunderstood. Thought you were taking the rear third out and putting it in. I've always heard the "3rd" as the back diff. the front has been the "front diff."

The front diff will be the same. Sorry. I'll shut up now. :embarassed::frusty::rockon:

No worries, Ya had me going for a minute there...

Yea, I picked up a taco frame and front susp. So I'm going to re-gear the taco front diff to minimize down time.

Picking up my front ARB and gears tomorrow. I'll drop both diffs on Friday and hopefully next week I'll get both front and rear back done. I'll add those to the pile of parts. So just a few more things and we'll get this party started.

So I spent a little time the other night on my rollbar. I got new mounting plates made, and welded on. I started to mock up the location for the tool box. It's a few inches low in the pictures. It'll come up 3-4 inches. That will give me enough to build a storage basket on top.

That's a good sized box for the back of a truck. I'm sick of breaking all of my handheld boxes in the back of my truck. Mind if I ask what model it is?
