4Lo Light not working

I have had to use 4 Lo several times lately off road. Nothing crazy, just crossing ditches. I have noticed the last several times that the 4Lo light is not lighting up. 4 lo is working, just not the light. The 4x4 light is working.

I was wondering if there was any way to make all of the dash lights come on to check to see if the light itself is the problem.

I guess if that doesn't work, i'll just have to take it in to the dealership.

Pretty sure all the lights come on upon start up and then go off after a brief moment. At least mine do from what I recall

I remember once I didn't put lever all the way forward and 4lo light didn't come in. Then I pushed it a little bit harder and it worked fine. I guess 4lo is not used that often so you might need to use more force with the lever. Just a thing to verify before you go to dealership : )

The 4x4 light comes on when i pull the lever into 4hi and stays on in 4lo.

4 Lo is actually working, just not the light and I have pushed on the lever and the light doesn't attempt to do anything.

It looks like it's to the dealer I go. I would just leave it alone if I knew that nothing else was wrong. You can't drive very far and not know you're in 4lo, so the light not working is just my OCD.

With everything working as it should mechanically, it sounds like the 4L indicator switch on the transfer case or the connector came loose.Take it back to the dealer since it's under warranty. Out of warranty people or do it yourselfers can check it with and ohmmeter as it looks like a simple open/close switch. Doesn't look like it would be easy to get to to change being at the top of the transfer case.

From the factory Repair Manual

INSPECT TRANSFER INDICATOR SWITCH (L4 POSITION)
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
TESTER CONNECTION
SWITCH CONDITION
SPECIFIED CONDITION
1 - 2
Pushed
Below 1 Ω

1 - 2
Not pushed
100 kΩ or higher
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the switch.

Here's where it's at and you might want to check to make sure the wiring connector didn't come loose.

I was under the truck looking for a loose connector and couldn't see anything, but I wasn't looking high enough up on the transfer case.
