4R 1988 rear washer and wiper don't work.

The front washer and wiper work perfectly, but the rear ones don't. Nothing happens. Have you had this problem? Can you point me in the right direction to solve it?

According to the FSM it works off the rear window relay, which makes sense as there is an interlock between the two so you won't put the window down while the wiper is on.
Make sure the window is all the way up to start.

How about the rear window? Does it work?

When ur ready with multi meter, we'll dive into it... together. :)

Actually I did not even notice that english is your second language. :)

Pls keep us posted on what you find out.
Start by checking voltage at your engine fuse.
I hope you will recover quickly from your accident. Getting busy with things u have enthusiasm for would help with recovery.

I may be mistaken. But I believe there is a switch inside the tailgate that tells me window wiper if the window is up. I would check to see that that is hooked up and also that it is being pushed closed or open whichever way the switch goes. Haven't had mine apart and a while.
 
I would put the wiper and washer low in list of priorities so you can focus more on fixing the more important issues:
Back-up lights, gauges, turn signals.

I do not recommend that you tackle all these problems while only starting to learn how to troubleshoot.

I don't know about you, but I find the rear wiper and washer more trouble than what they're worth. They have given me more trouble like getting in the way of rear window closing that the circuit breaker for rear window control tripped. I've never needed it in any critical way. I may decide to remove them.

I printed several pages from the FSM, around 100, one of the first things I did when I got my 4R.

I've read several post saying that, the rear wiper and washer're the one of the most problematic features in the first generation 4R.

I've noticed other thing, I posted it in other thread, the 4R has the cover top installed, but the "B" bolt, (the one which makes contact with the cover top switch), wasn't in position, no bolt there. The "B" one was in the gloves compartment inside a plastic bag... and the rear window's working. I think the previous owner did some electric modification. So you're right, this subject requieres more time, it can wait for a while.
 
If you need a new window motor, you can get one from a 88-91 camry i believe. But get the back window motors. They are a little faster too!

*EDIT** For some reason i thought we were talking about your rear window motor!? lol....sorry but just an fyi i guess totally off topic
