4runit [ Build Thread ]

Sorry for the very late update.

Figured I'd finally take the time to update the thread, been a long time since I spent some time on the forum. I recently went on a day trip to a trail near Arnold, CA where we helped out a 4x4 club from Concord called Gettin Off clean up and clear a trail they had adopted which had some nice obstacles and mild water crossings. Felt pretty good keeping up with the more experienced club members who had some pretty crazy rigs. Also learned some winching techniques where we moved a fallen tree with the help of a snatch block.

My most recent mods have been:

-Retrofitted projector headlights
-Color matched 00-02 Grill
-Custom fitted LED "Daytime Running Lights"
-New Rockford Fosgate speakers and amp
-new scratches :trophy:

Overall a pretty expensive and stressful project but totally worth it. Took about a day for the total build to come together, my Dad pieced together the projectors and painted the headlight housing black the week before we started. Because mine is a 98, DRLs did not come factory so the LEDs do not come on automatically(as DRLS should) but turn on with the parking and headlight switches.
Next mods will probably be OME Landcruiser Coils for the rear and to raise up the front coilovers, Lightforce Amber filters, body lift?

Lookin' real good. love those tires I'm running almost the same cept I'm on 285's haha. keep it up :thumb3:

NICE! There's so many great 4Runners on here now, it's hard to pick a favorite...but every time I check yours out, I tell myself it's my favorite. :thumb3: Probably a straight tie between your's and blcktpgsr's.

That's now one of the best looking front-ends around! Nice, clean and not overly-tacky by any means.

Sweet rig.

The garage looks immaculate and what better place to work on a well-taken care of rig than that garage. Everything you have done to your ride has been done very well. I would like to take from your ride, some ideas for my own.

Forgot to say:

I like your next planned mods, except for the body lift. I wouldn't do it. You'll be honking tall already with LC rear coils, and your front coilovers cranked up.

How did you manage to get ur parking light lenses out with the bumper in place. I tryed to get mine out with the shrockworks bumper but there wasnt enough room between the two. Great looking front end, very nicely done.

i wanna say some bad words right now!!! holy crap! thats the baddest 3rd gen ive ever seen! so clean, yet so capable! love it

This could be my favorite runner!!! :guitar3: you got it looking so clean, everything fits perfect together, i have never liked the Retro fits until yours, i also really like the other LED or whatever lights those are that you mounted right below the head lights, they look great, i think i might consider color matching my grill now! i really like the way that yours turned out, looks great

That..looks..AWESOME!!!

Everything comes together nicely and the 01-02 grille finishes it off perfectly. Definitely one of my top favorites on this site! :artist:
