4runner 2006 factory skid plate

Just curious, how much clearance is there between the skid plate and the bumper? I don't want to have to take it off everytime just so I can wash the silver part. Can you fit a hand in between easily? Thanks!

808sport.... believe i'm one of the first ones on the island here to have the skid plate on a 2005 runner (speaking i went to toyota parts distro where i ordered my skid plate and they looked like a mule looking over a barbed wire fence ....don't think that will last much longer though! hope the one you saw in manoa didn't have a skid plate!!!! d@mn!!!!!

tkr128...as for the skid plate, once you install the rivet nuts and other bolts and just before you wrench them down tightly, you have the ability to adjust the skid plate how you like it (just making a guess here but probably have about an inch play forward and backwards and a couple inches up/down). i personally thought it looked the best with just about a thumbs distance b/w the plate and the bumper...also just big enough to accomodate a chenille wash mit during weekly cleanings.

anyone have pictures of a LIMITED with the skid plate?

I think it'll look funny on a Limited as it has the center area painted silver already.... that's why I wanted to see if people had pictures of it.... anyone? post em!

I know the SR5s did.. but I thought all Limiteds here in Canada has the silver painted accents. Oh well.... anyone have pics of skid plate + painted accent?

So, after seeing the pics of hawaiian_runner's, what do you think? Personally I think it might even look better. Not quite as noticeable as on a mono-color runner, but somehow I like it more.

Without some modifications, the skid plate will not fit with the T&H Bull Bar installed. It's not that there isn't enough room for it. It's the mounting brackets that currently prevent the installation. The T&H uses the same mounting points as the skid plate. So, I guess it's going to sit in my garage until the spring time when I have more time to think about it. If anyone has figured out a way to install it with the T&H Bull Bar.. LET ME KNOW.

Thanks for letting us know. I just read this entire thread, for the first time, and I was worried the whole time because I remembered using those same mounting holes. Guess I'm not buying this until I see you successfully install it without too much trouble.........oh, and I'll have to find some $$$$ first, which means it will be a while regardless.

^ its nice.... but I PM'ed him for a picture that's furthur away so I can get a nicer overall view. I think it still blends in a little too much with the silver inserts. I have a black truck and adding another silver piece where I already have a silver piece.....might not do anything. I guess I could always photoshop something together.. anyone want to help me?

distance shots for luxury and iForce. have not seen a front skid plate on a g.gray limited runner yet, but think that it would definately stand out a little more and possibly even look a little better than on the sport editions....but then again, you won't have a mean looking hood scoop on a limited. i'm sure it will all balance out in the end. anyways, hope these pics help out.

I think the one I have is from a 02 sport 4runner (maybe even tacoma?)...I had it on my 96 trd supercharged 4Runner and moved it to my 05 sport when I bought it

I like the way it sits UNDER the silver bar instead of in front of it...makes the front look thicker and meaner...more in proportion to the hight from the side with silver running boards and 20"s...

I dont think they sell 4Runner stuff anymore...they have a racing 07 Tundra they are building up..and I think they have parts for Xrunner tacomas...couldnt hurt to email to see if they still offer them

Yes the factory skid plate fits an "03, I put mine on about 8 months ago. and it was around $80, from a dealership!

2006 4Runner skid plate

Hi, I do have a question, can the 2006 Sequoia Front Skid Plate be used in a 2006 4Runner? I was looking at the pictures and they look very similar!

This is not actual skid plate. Its decorative and will not fit as they have different mounting points. If you want, you can modify the mounting. But be aware that this plate will actually limit your off-road capabilities as its sticks way out of your vehicle lines.
