4runner bumper

my name is christian and im quite new to this forum. im wondering if anyone would be able to help me out by finding the blueprints or something along those lines for the 2010-2014 4Runner Front Bumper, 5th Generation, im skilled in welding and fabrication but i dont have a grand to spend on a bumper that i could possibly make. any help would be greatly appreciated.

So you want to steal shrockworks design? Call them up ask to purchase their CAD drawings. But don't steal others work...

you've never been inspired by the work of others? doesn't sound like the OP is looking to make a mass produced copy of this for profit (although it'd be nice if there was a way to get a shrockworks without having to wait 4+ months to get one).

Inspired and "finding the blue prints" are two different things.

With the R&D that goes into making the CAD files, I doubt that you will come ahead much after paying for those and then getting your material. The cost of a bumper (Shrockworks or otherwise) is not so much in the material and labor (although that's not to be discounted), but in the time, effort and cost involved with coming up with a working design that is repeatable, safe, and well built to work with the OEM components on the vehicle.

I don't think you'll find a freebie, but good luck with your project. You can always call Shrockworks as mentioned by [MENTION=81003]Jono.ful[/MENTION] and see if they are willing to sell the plans for personal usage.

I would be willing t bet anyone, anything, that there is NO WAY Shrockworks would be willing to give up any information regarding their products.......why would a company give up their hard earned R&D ??

Because they sell it with every bumper... It's an easily measured physical piece. Why not make some money when the few capable people who make one themselves want to? If they are worried about pirated versions for sale they can trademark the shape otherwise nothing is stopping someone from just copying the bumper for personal use. It's legal as long as you don't sell it.

That is the single most impressive 5th gen bumper I have ever seen to this day. The craftsmanship is amazing. It not only fits, flows, and looks like it came from the factory but small details like the fender flare bumps and corner of the bumper being rounded vs. a hard point are perfectly executed! The only bad thing I'd have to say about it is that the lower half doesn't cover up the exposed washer bottle with the same beautifully done metal work.

Does this guy sell this? I'd pay for the freight or the gas to drive down there if I had a 5th gen! :O

In later pictures you can see it covers the washer bottle as well. The bottom ends up similar to the ARB bumper bottom. You are just seeing the center plate in this picture.

Could you imagine selling a "kit" and then having something fail and someone gets their face torn off by a flying shackle tab that wasn't welded properly....yea...no lawsuit there..

Maybe when you get your SW bumper you mail the OP the measurements..

I think you are unfamiliar with this market and how lawsuits work. Bumper kits and templates are extremely common for other off road vehicles. Anything that is self assembled improperly or is at all altered from the manufacturers spec is no longer the manufacturers problem and is exempt from lawsuit (caveot emptor) otherwise Ikea would be out of business. Imagine if Bilstein sold someone shocks and you installed them incorrectly and ran someone over. Bilstein is not responsible for the installers shoddy work.

Yes, Luke at 4x4 Labs would probably be willing to do a CNC part sale or bumper kit as he refers to it. I've talked to him about it more than once. Worth a call or email if you are interested. He has it all set up for press parts (I've even seen the parts before assembly and am pretty sure they are all dialed in with weld tabs ready to go).

why can't any of the "BUMPER MAKERS" make a clean looking front bumper like this.. is it really that hard? i mean a guy in Peru with a truck lifted up on weak wooden boards can do it.. CLEANLY!! i wonder if we can get the guy over here and a few ppl house him over time to build us all one.. i've got the hookup on flights lane:
