I have never bought any car because of what color it was - Generally find the year, model, equipment, condition and price I want and buy it. This one just happened to be blizzard pearl.
It is easy to find when I have hiked away from it and returned - especially in N. Nevada:

MGM, silver or white
I was trying to choose between silver and the magnetic grey metallic. I eventually ordered the MGM and I'm very happy with the way it looks. It shows dirt and hard water spots more, but if I keep it polished it will be easy to clean.
White is not a good choice for the T4R due to all of the black and chrome parts on the exterior, IMO. And the T4R TE only comes with a black interior so you need to think about the interior/exterior combo.

I had a Mag Gray Tundra and the wife's Rav4 is Mag gray, loved them both. The salt in the winter is a PITA because it shows it like black does. Small scratches hid well, but deep ones do not. The best color for hiding things IMO is silver, because most manufacturers use a silver primer as well so unless a scratch goes to metal it is not as noticeable. White is a sharp color on the T4R, it was my second choice and transparently I am still not sure I made the right choice, lol. If you like the Mag Gray, get it....you won't regret it.

I love silver for the features not the color.
fav color is blue actually (more toward the lighter side of blue, ie: electric blue)
reason I go with silver :
I usually don't wash the vehicle very often, once every few month (rare was when I had the 10 legacy, I went between 1-2 yrs before getting it washed.
just to dam lazy nowadays to even care. I have better things to do than worry about what the vehicle looks like on the outside dirt wise. don't get me wrong, I have 1 paint chip (only spot the paint protection film didn't cover, the leading edge of the hood) and 1 minor scuff on the roof rack rail. otherwise the paint is blemish free from anything.
I park so far away from buildings, I have to drop the warden off at the door so she doesn't have to walk the 2 miles to where I parked the 4runner.

I battled with myself between White, MGM, and Red. White was at the top of my list because of previously owned white cars and how well they hold up over time and don't show dirt. MGM was my second choice because I wanted a dark vehicle without going full Black. Then I saw this. Just go with Red, it's what all the cool kids are doing.

Hahaha! You and me both. Wife hates it, but a little exercise is good for us all.
We were torn between the MGM and BP. Had dark gray vehicles in the past and loved them, but ended up with the pearl this time around and couldn't be happier.
Either way you are going to love the 5th Gen!

Had there been a red 4Runner parked next to the three grey ones at the dealer.... I can bet that I would have gone with red.

I got both, super white and MGM. Mag grey looks great cleaned and waxed but the pinstripes show up easy and are hard to get rid of. The white is OK but doesn't have clear coat and bug guts show up big time out front and with the new facia it is a PITA to clean. Obviously 2 of the more popular (neutral)colors.
You'll be happy with either... it's just paint... unless you're talking inferno or quicksand :yuck::yuck::yuck:

Went against everyone's recommendation and got a black 4runner. Take care of it and it will look good. Don't be stupid and lazy. Wash it with the two bucket system, seal your polished clear coat with a synthetic wax like Klasse high gloss sealer, and even clear bra some areas if you have the money. If you are going off roading a lot, it doesn't matter what color you get, it's getting chipped and scuffed so this thread will be pointless.
Everyone has their own version of what "good looking" paint is. I flip out when I see new chips, while others wouldn't even notice them. It's all up to you and how OCD you want to be.

The dealership I dealt with only had the TEP in two colors; white and black. No way I was doing black.
4. White has lowest exterior and to a lesser degree, interior temperature.
5. White has greatest visibility for locating vehicle when returning from hike. (this was already noted, but i've benefited from this before)
I've lived in the Phoenix area for 25yrs and had only white and one light silver vehicle.
I just bought a nav blue 4R. Looks great. Shows scratches & pinstripes as under is white.
But to the point above when I took it on its first road/camp/hike trip and as I've always done went to lay a trail map on the hood to share with others. However it was near burning hot, but it was only ~90F out. That didn't work.
How much hotter is a black car than a white car in the sun?
I learned from the link above (which has some flaws in methodology, but good anyway especially for exterior temps) that when ambient air temp is 80F, black paint surface is 66F higher vs. 8F higher for white paint. That is a significant difference and being close to my blue 4R (loading/unloading, getting stuff) felt notably warmer and one had to be careful not to lean on vehicle such as when accessing roof. I never had this issue with my white truck even on hot summer days.
Interior is far less of a delta and less of a concern. Firstly window tint makes the biggest difference, but also we have windows and A/C to quickly adjust and maintain comfort.
