4runner color question

The dealer I was talking with didn't have a red one on the lot, and told me they had no plans to order one either. I then was told about a used one on the Acura lot down the road and went to look at it in person because I was so unsure about the MGM or SW. I returned to the dealer and told them to find me the first Red available. 3 weeks later my baby showed up directly from Japan. I couldn't be happier.
Is the Trail not worth the upgrade? I'm pretty sure I like the standard 2R5 best, but have been considering the Trail....whatta ya think?

This is an off-topic question. But heck, what do you think? How are you going to use the vehicle? If you're going off-roading much and want a locking rear differential then the Trail Edition is definitely worth it.
So what about the color?

Classic Silver color
One of the things I liked about the Classic Silver color is how it reflects all the colors around it. You can see a blue sky reflected on the hood while the sides reflect a green forest. You can easily see this in a photo posted above of a silver T4R parked in front of an apartment building with the blue sky reflected on the hood. Silver takes on the predominant hues of the surroundings. It's also a cooler color when it's sitting in the sun.
The one thing I did not like about the Classic Silver is that so many cars are silver, from compacts to luxury sedans. It's kind of commonplace.
That's part of why I ordered my 4Runner in the MGM.

I'll stick with my attitude black Trail. Sure, it shows dust but I wash it weekly anyway and when clean, nothing looks as good as a straight and clean black vehicle IMO.
I will say I do like the Pearl white and my last 4Runner was a really nice medium gray metallic that hid dust well, but was ready for a change.

Those are not people. They are alien eggheads.
That pic was taken along 89A on the way to Marble Canyon crossing in AZ.
I love the blue, but my other car is a black Focus, and I have to park outside at work, so during the summer, that car heats up like a little oven, even with tint. I love my white 4Runner. I will never own another dark colored car as long as I live out here.

Would have been nice if the Tacoma cloud silver was available on the 4runner
Just curious, does the wife have an opinion as to the color? That may matter more than any of ours ........

Silver looks great on the 5th gen 4Runner. I had a pic of the 2010 TE as my computer desktop for the better part of a year.

Yea I agree '10-'13 Trail in silver is probably the best looking t4r that ever came off the production line IMO. Wish they would'e made them white also back then. I got MGM cause I had just traded a silver '06 and didn't want the same color.
I wanted white/silver for all the benefits of a light colored vehicle discussed here.
Dealers in the trim I wanted only had red or blue. I test drove the red, wife much preferred the blue. She was glad there was not a white option at the time as she has never liked our white vehicles. Waiting was not an option.
I am actually happy that my only buyers remorse is the color - that means it is a near perfect vehicle for me.
and my wife is very happy.Plus I believe we are finally past our last 100+ degree day here so I won't think about the dark color until mid-March again.
haha.. its gonna be a surprise gift.. she is commissioning in the Army and I want to treat her to a new vehicle... she has been talking alot about a 4 door color matched hardtop wrangler.. buts that not gonna happen.
