4runner crash - the good, bad & ugly.

Recently,(against my better judgment) I let my girlfriend drive my 4runner for a quick Starbucks run. This is the result. What's worse is that the frappuccino she had in the cup holder went *everywhere*. Needless to say, it won't happen again!

The good part is that this gave me an excuse to pick up a few things I've had my eye on for a while.

Revtek 3" spacer kit
Bilstein shocks
Black aluminium wheels with 285/75/16 BFGs
Clear corner and bumper lenses
Carbon fiber hood (on order from J. Burtman)

The body shop will be done with the repairs tomorrow and the spacers/shock install happens first thing Saturday morning. I can't wait. I'll post progress pics.

Haha same thing happened to me with 98, but it wasn't my girlfriend who wrecked it.. I've learned the lesson when someone asked to drive your your ride.. just tell em no..

I guess I must be very lucky.
I let an unlicensed driver (He had me believed that he had it since I drove his jeep home that night to do some work to it) and he ended up doing 100MPH in the middle of the night and got there just fine...

But anyway, at least you getting some new and interesting things on, can't wait to see it!

I thought about it - went for the new hood instead. Do the airbags still work with the TJM bumper?

yup - this is the last time I let anyone drive. At least she paid my deductible!

Fwiw, I hope your g/f is okay.

I watched a guy push his porsche down a ramp while his g/f was steering. He pushed the car right under the tow truck.

Naw, no angry woman here, but at least he got to put some cool mods on.

So she STEERED the Porsche into the tow truck.....LOL

Well, ummm basically yes.

The tow truck was at the bottom of the sloped driveway. The guy was pushing the porsche from the driver side, and honestly it's not like both them couldn't see the the freakin bottom end of a flatbed tow truck.

It was funnier than hell. I don't think he has the same g/f anymore - heh heh :bash:
