Purchase Agreement
When I flew to NC and bought a vehicle from Rice Toyota (Yes, it was that great of a deal!), I had the salesman sign a purchase agreement. This way I had a leg to stand on if the vehicle was not there or if they tried changing the price on me. Luckily, they were wonderful to work with and after I landed it was just filling out the paperwork and driving it home. Having this filled out and signed is the closest I could come to a binding legal contract (I'm not a lawyer), so if things went south I would have documented evidence supporting my claims. I used this form:

I also did most of my negotiations over email and what happened over the phone, such as quotes, I had them email me saying the same things explicitly. You time is valuable and your money hard earned, there's no reason why you should get richarded around with nonsense games.
