4Runner delivery hold

Check cars.com definitely some that got to dealers before the hold and some seem to be still available.
 
It sat in port. My dealer traded for it before the hold was known. I was given a few delivery dates that came and passed. Dealer had no idea for the delays. It's finally came a few days before the latest quoted delivery time span. It seems that western and southern people are starting to get them more than others.

In a few days, I should find out if my dealer has allocated/ordered/preferenced/ or whatever the hell they're not telling us! Can you get one or not? I could literally drive 65 miles tomorrow and get one!
 
Got an email from the dealer today. They said that the national port hold is in effect until at least the 11th.

Still no official word as to why, other than all PROs are being reinspected.

I was going to purchase a trd pro today I located on cars.com 65 miles from me. However, they don't have the trd on lot. They won't be receiving it until the 20th. Why list and not physically have it!!

A lot of dealers do that to build interest / get potential customers. My dealer had a deposit for mine, but still listed it on their website for 3 weeks before mine came in. They told me they had 3 people wanting to buy it if I backed out.
 
Dealer today told me they are promised one in 3 weeks. Still can't provide a Vin number though or a reason just that they are still being held up...

I heard on the news that the airbag issue actually effects vehicles that are a few years old. I don't remember the dates and this was my local news, so don't take my word for it, but it seems like an airbag issue would be holding all 4Runners and probably many other vehicles, not just the TRD.
 
I'm hearing release after Veterans day... But that's just scuttlebutt. Don't have much choice but to wait and see do we? In the mean time i'll just keep driving my 13 TE. Nothing though on the Inferno's.
 
My limited is being held up at the Port of Newark and as of two days ago, my dealer advised me that delivery probably wouldn't be for another two weeks (and keep in mind the dealer is located about 45 min from the port).
 
Picked up my white Pro last night. I don't know if the hold has actually been released, but mine showed up unannounced. :bravo:
