4runner dilemma

Hey guys im in the process of purchasing a new 4runner. I have 3 of them in mind all 06 and 2wd
BLK sport with 64,000 miles on it, ideal for me. going for $18,000
Blue SR5 with 112,000 miles, but super clean going for $13,900
Silver SR5 with 92,000 miles, garage kept going for $15,400

The one i really want is the BLK sport, which is being sold by a dealer, the other two are private sales. The dilemma is the money, after tax and registration i would guess add an additional 1500 to 2000. is it worth it to buckle down and spend more? I plan on keeping the runner for a minimum of 4 years.

Personally, id keep looking.

Strike 1: Are they all V6's? If so, then i wouldnt buy em'.(just personal preference)
Strike 2: Theyre all 2WD (whats the point?!)

If money is the concern, then go with the cheapest and fix it up.

For me the highest mileage of the three would depend on maintenance history...well all three for that matter, but especially that one. Are there big maintenance items that are due that will offset the savings of the lower purchase price, for example?

What looks good on the front end might be a wash or zero-sum proposition if you are going to end up sinking a bunch of money into it soon after you buy it.

I will also take the blue one, it has a reasonable price.Then I will wok on the things that is needed to be fixed.

Maintenance records is the key here. That is going to be the biggest determining factor. If you can't determine the history of a vehicle then walk away. None of them have high mileage. Should easily get another 200k miles out of either one.

You said you really want the black sport. So get that one. You will have buyers remorse later.

The only other one I would consider is the silver. I just don't buy anything with over 100k as a personal preference. Since you want 4 years out of it, at the end of 4 years, you'll look to either trade or sell. You won't get as much for a car with 140k vs one with 102k.

I like the Black Sport too. There a few things that you wont get on the other 2. Black seats, sport roof rack, sport step bars, and XREAS (if you really need it). But honestly, $18k is a little steep.

But also take into account that on top of the price difference you will have to pay dealer fees. If it were me, I would go with the Silver SR5 or just wait a little while longer. The longer that black on sits on the lot, the better your negotiating power will be.

The only way you pay list price at a dealer if it's "out the door" which includes taxes, licensing fees etc. so you shouldn't pay anything more than 18...talk them down to 17 out the door

Thanks for the input. I'm gonna attempt to talk them down to 17 out the door by paying in cash. But I did KBB it and its worth is 21 if I did everything correctly
