Don't remember which thread, but there was one on here that included a video of someone using a small steamer to "pump up" the foam in a seat. In the video, they had stripped back the leather and applied the steam directly to the foam. I have a Sport with cloth seats so figured maybe it would work through the cloth. Bingo! Much improved. Found the little steamer for $20.

My seats are completely shot, drivers side worse than passenger. I just bought it Monday, truck is from Cali so I'm guessing the sun had a lot to do with it.
My drivers side leather seat cover is totally shot. Huge rip right down the middle, and the foam is starting to wear away a little where the rip is.
I'm hoping to save up some funds for Metric TLc seat covers, I saw a thread on them a little while back and they look awesome. I really dig the darker brown with tan stitching.

On mine, the metal seat frame behind the outboard plastic cover was where the [pleather] seat began to rip apart - on the side, basically where the seat contacts that cover.
I ended up switching seat bottoms from pass. to driver, then getting a cheap set of cloth 4runner seats and putting a cloth bottom on the passengers side.
Then I thouroughly deburred the metal edge and put a few layers of gorilla tape over it to prevent the same thing from happening again.
This was intended to be a temporary fix 3 years ago while I was supposed to go to an upholstery shop to have the ripped panel replaced....still haven't followed through on that.

I read this earlier today, have the fabric seats, and own a clothing steamer. So in my boredom I figured why not give it a shot.... Well what do ya know it works. My drivers seat has no tears but I am big dude and they have 160K on them. So after about 5-8 mins of steaming on each seat I can really tell that they have some life back in them. I can actually see a difference on the door side bolsters, look kind of puffy again. Didn't really expect it to be noticeable, I was wrong. Awesome and easy...at least on the fabric seats.
