4runner just came out of the car wash and black rubber strip hanging

It runs under the stock roof rack. I just kind of pushed it back into place. Anyone ever have this haplen? I'm assuming it's a non issue. There is a little gap now between the rubber and the front cap of the roof rack.

you have to loosen the rack base to get it back under there... there is nothing holding them, they just slide in the rails

My wife's highlander does the same thing. They won't fall out.

If you're talking about the same things, I had the same piece start coming out of my 4th gen. It only happened when I ran ski/snowboard roof rack. I'd push it back in.

I think it eventually just flew out w/o me noticing. Never had any issues w/o it.

Cut a small square of 3m double sided tape and put that under after you've cleaned out all the goobers

No worries with that, the channels are solid and the bolts for the roof rack seal up the only holes.

Happens all the time. Lost two of the same strips on my Tacoma. Just put it back in place and be on your marry way.

Same thing used to happen on mine. The double sided adhesive does the trick like [MENTION=139892]FrenchToasty[/MENTION] said. I'm still debating whether to just take them out, it grabs a lot of junk in there and would make it easier to keep clean

Mine does the same thing. You can either take them out and leave them out or pull them out and get some 3M double sided trim tape and put them back in. They are just there for decoration and really suit no purpose.

Its annoying though !!!!

Oh yes they will. The first week I had my 5th Gen I came out of the car wash and the flap was hanging down by the passenger door. I pushed it back into place that time. A couple car washes later I went to check it after the car wash and it was gone. But it wasn't in said car wash either. I never replaced it and it hasn't been a problem going on 2 years now.

Just checked, they're gone.

God knows for how long.

Haven't leaked with the stock rack.
