And here I was hoping there'd be a xmas tree related challenge. We harvested our 12' tree from our rental house lot, but I was loading firewood too so this year the tree went on the roof instead of just stuffed in the back.

The tree challenge comes NEAR christmas time. We don't usually get a tree until like 3 days before, last year I think it was the DAY before

Ok new challenge.
Lets see some air. All 4 wheels off the ground. Be creative, Jump it, jack it, fly it off a cliff, lift it with a helicopter, high center it on a rock, just get some hang time :lookout:

Silly question coming from a coil spring guy, but why not mount the leafs over the axle? Too high??

Totally stole this reply from a guy who just answered the same question.
Spring under benifits for a couple of reasons...
It allows for a much high arch of a spring. With a higher arch you can get more travel numbers as well as being more progressive with the amount of spring you are applying to the truck. If you were to mount the same spring over the top of the axle the truck would also sit about 6" taller and call for a crazy shackle to make up for it.
Second it helps prevent axle wrap due to the fact that your leaf packs main spring or top spring is located directly on the axle. In a spring over it is the furthest spring from the axle and therefore has more leverage against it and causes axle wrap. On these set of springs and most of them out now by deaver and other companies they offer an additional anti axle wrap spring as well or called a military wrap I believe.

simply put, no axle wrap, and more down travel, in the game of pre running down travel is everything.
