4Runner photo game

Next challenge: Your 4Runner hauling or with something you got a great deal on (ie, like from a garage/yard sale, classified ad, pawn shop, etc.). Maybe a few deets on why it was a good deal.

This looks fun. I think I might be able to get this one this weekend.

Well I have been reading through this thread. I hope it doesn't die out. I especially like the challenges that are like a scavenger hunt. I didn't read all 288 pages but I did read about 150 pages over the past few days. From what I can tell the game is in need of a reset due to the 72 hour rule. If that's true here's my contribution, a photo of my 4runner in front of a local land mark. It is the Onion shed.

Good challenge, but aren't the challenges supposed to be current? As in, the challenge gets issued and you go out and do it, rather than a historic photo?

That is correct. The pic has to be taken after the challenge is issued. However, if it gets a few more players maybe we can make an allowance for someone new not totally understanding the rules. This game needs more players to make it interesting and to keep it moving.

That and nobody's going to go out of their way to make an oops photo :lookout: (especially mid-week)

I'd accept a historic one tho in the interest of keeping the game moving

Well... I could have covered the oops photo mid week. It wouldn't have been MY 4runner though. I was heading home from work yesterday traveling south on I-5 from Seattle when I saw a scary sight. There was a white 3rd gen 4Runner facing north-bound, on the side of the road, with an LBJ failure. The front wheel was at a scary weird angle, all the way forward and clear of the wheel well. I was driving so no pics. But that would have sacred the hell out of me if I had that happen to me traveling on the interstate. :shocked:

Damm bro. Yeah, for sure, I'd have a heart attack. I'm glad they redesigned it on the 4th gen

Lets keep the game going strong. 72 hour rule should be in effect now. Lets see some local landmarks. Im going to try to get one this evening or tomorrow morning.

I think it should be important that when issuing challenges the issuer should be able and willing to get a photo to win their challenge to keep the game going.

That picture was taken after I read the challenge. Actually, just a few minutes before I posted it. I just didn’t do it in purpose. I’m still new to this, so I’ll get better.

As for a mid-week oops... this was me winching off of the the Rubicon with a broken tie rod, Axle and a blown bead. This was taken Tuesday and it took 2 full days to get it moving again. Can I submit a pic for my own challenge?

I'd say you're fine in the spirit of keeping it moving since the game gets reset so often.
That being said, you need to issue a new challenge..

I don't see why you cant. Ive seen other post where someone won their own challenge. New challenge please.

I didn't think I would be able to get this one, since my hometown doesn't have any. But I drove up to Crandon today for the first off-road Lucas Oil Midwest Short-Course races of the season (and the series). :first:

Thanks for the clarification on the rules, all! I was only asking out of curiosity, not being grumpy. Now that I know this going forward things might be a bit easier for me to participate in.

I meaaaan, what if we get into a police chase and have it escalate to the point where they deploy the National Guard (i.e. GTA), but then right before they blow up your rig just tell them you did it for the Photo Game on the 4Runner forum. Many laughs will be had. =p
