I know this challenge is a bit old but rather than a local landmark reset, here is your building made of stone. This little church down the road has been in business for about 160 years.
Next challenge: Your 4Runner in front of a lot/junkyard/whatever that has a bunch of old cars, trucks, etc. setting around. "Old" is defined as 1970s or earlier vehicles being the predominate vintage.

Good job, MeefZah! It looks like we're playing a slow motion version of the game but it works. I won't be back to my 4Runner until Friday evening, but I assume your challenge will last until Saturday. If so, I have historical markers around where I live that reference all the way back to the Revolutionary War.

I'm kind of in the same boat. Mine sets at the airport every week, Monday through Friday. I basically have 2 days at home where I don't really want to go anywhere once I'm there.

Challenge: Your 'Runner with a historical marker that predates WWII
currently working in Stephenville Tx, cruised by some of the many historical sites this morning before taking my boy Bu to the hiking trail
- Erath County Court House - Construction Date 1892: Three story Romanesque revival Courthouse in cruciform plan with clock tower and basement constructed of locally quarried limestone and Pecos Red Sandstone.
- Erath Arches - Construction Date 1936: Two mirror imaged quarried limestone monument, each consisting of two decorative arches that flank N. Erath Ave., at its intersection with W. Washington St., with bronze plaque sketching the life of George B. Erath. He was a protector of the Texas frontier, hero of San Jacinto, major in the Confederate army, member of the Texas Congress and Legislature. Erath County named in his honor
- West End Cemetery - Construction Date 1885: cemetery comprised of geometrically shaped sections of human burials beneath stone markers surrounded on three sides by a historic stone wall.
- Dog crossing trail bridge - not historical but he was ready to get out and run around

I know this entry is too late, but I found this historical marker in Santa Clara CA which was erected by the “Clampers” (Mountain Charlie Chapter No. 1850, E Clampus Vitus). I got a kick out of this and thought you might too.
Inscription:
On January 2, 1847, somewhere hereabouts was fought the last northern battle of the Mexican War. The official casualty report: “Dead none, Wounded none, Missing but one on the American side and he came up shortly afterwards stating that he had been searching for his ramrod which in the excitement, he had forgotten to draw from his gun and fired at the enemy”

OK, I’m new to the game. But here’s my literal take on the challenge. My submission is a Dead End road in a residential neighborhood.
I haven’t read through all the threads , so this may be a repeat. But here is the
NEXT CHALLENGE:
Your 4Runner with its twin. Same model year, same color, same trim, same mods if any.
Edit: Maybe too hard. Mods do not have to be exact.

I think it's great that you posted the "too late" attempt. I wish everyone would post their second & third place attempts at a challenge. It would provide more pics and make the game more interesting. :thumb:

no joke, i was going to pose the same challenge and went back and forth about how achievable it was... i hate when the challenges expire

I was going to try and get the Dead end pic last night on my way home but I forgot. There is a cool abandoned boat ramp near where I live where we take our dogs swimming. At the end of the road there is a dead end where the entrance for the boat ramp used to be.

I'm not super big on the rules and I want people to play, so I'm not trying to argue to DQ yo azz... but I don't see a single historical marker / date in your pics... :whipping2

dang you're right... i didn't read the challenge carefully and just assumed historical sites which i knew there were plenty of around here and not historical markers.... :redbrick:
what i posted is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever done. At no point in my rambling, incoherent response was i even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having looked at it. I award myself no points, and may God have mercy on my soul.

Girl who runs the surplus store, Natasha, has a similar 4R. Both MGM, black wheels, black roof rails, same height lift, 285s, 32" light bars, tint. I will concede that hers is a year or two older and is a TE model, while mine is an SR5... but I think I'm close enough here.
Next up, your 4R with a mural depicting some sort of transportation device on the mural - like a bicycle, a blimp, a boat, a horse and buggy, etc.
