Loading up the truck and a guy says "Youre gonna like that vehicle" and starts telling me about his sons and what a great vehicle it is and how much he loves it with all the miles.

Positive word of mouth gets around when you build something good. Thats why they dont need 4Runner commercials.

This has happened to be many times in parking lots. I actually get more compliments on my Runner than I did with my S5. :)

I've gotten more positive comments on my 4Runner in the 2 months I've owned it than I did on my Tacoma's over the last 15 years. Not that the Tacoma's didn't draw positive remarks, they did, just something about a 4Runner...:reddance:

I had a 2010 BMW e92 before this and surprised anyone would compliment a 4Runner.

How did you like your S5?

I loved it although I missed having a truck. I also didn't think I'd be getting compliments on the Runner but then again, the TE with Duratracs and sliders does look pretty awesome if I may say so. :)

Had a worker on a road construction crew that had to stop traffic for a minute because of construction come look my 4R up and down.

In a real hick-ish voice he said "They sure are makin' dem Toyoters look good!"

Nevertheless.. I can honestly say I have never enjoyed a truck/SUV as much as this one

Earlier this year I was driving near a school not far from home on a road that I travel each day at least 3X. On this particular day I had something on my mind and did not realize that I was doing about 30mph when entering the 20mph school zone. Of course as soon as I saw the Sheriff's deputy parked off to the side I knew what I had done and simply pulled over before forcing him to do so. He came up to the window and said that he had seen my vehicle numerous times driving through and really admired it's looks, He asked me a few questions about it, asked that I not repeat what I had just done and sent me on my way. Also, had a woman recently in a supermarket parking lot comment that she liked the "looks of my truck". There is definitely something about owning a TE !

We get tons of comments everywhere we go, from people on the street and parking lots to valet guys. My girlfriend thinks its crazy every time that happens.

Real men don't drive 4Runners to them there grocery stores or malls. .......However, one time at band camp...........:drummer:

lol its funny but having lunch one day I noticed a guy really checking out my rig. So much so that I half expected him to get some tools and start taking my Gobi off.

What i find interesting is that most compliments we get on ours are followed or preceeded by "what is that?". Not that many around these parts. Suv of choice around here is still suburban or tahoe. Its nice to have something out of the norm and still get positive comments about it.

I never drove my BMW. Just sat in the garage. Bought it as a demo with 4K miles. Traded it at 7500 miles. I was always driving my 3rd Gen 4Runner so I said what the hell, get rid of them both for a new 4Runner. Saving me a lot of money too. My BMW was an X-Drive but I still never drove it in rain or snow. I will have another one to compliment this 4Runner when its paid for.

On two separate instances here recently, I've had people come up to me and compliment the OEM wheels on my '10 Limited.

Those made my day. :)

+1 I've had a few and one guy asked me what rims those "were". I said Toyota, OEM. He was at a bit of a distance and at first didn't believe me. I pointed out the Toyota logo in the center cap. lol

Had a doctors appt in Boston today, a cop walking his beat came up to me while stopped in traffic just to comment on my Runner (whew lol). Said he wants one but the wife wants a Pilot I told him she should be arrested for such obscene thoughts, he was laughing as I drove away. :lmao:

I had a lady driving a Pilot the other day ask me why my 4Runner looked like it was going to eat the other SUVs.

It's the grill.

I use to get compliments on my 95 f350, but nice trucks on 35's usually do. My 06 f250 got a couple of compliments, but my 04 never did, I think it was because my 06 was black with AT tires and my 04 was white and looked like a work truck.

I never have received a compliment on my explorer, except for my nitto tires from a friend and someone who asked how they performed.

The 'valet' guy was pulling up the 4Runner to the front of service at the dealer after routine maintenance and this other lady and her young son (~4ish?) was waiting too for their vehicle. The Kid goes "Mommy, that car looks awesome. Why didn't we get that?" Needless to say, I left with a smile on my face.
