4Runner seating suggestion

Verdict is:

There is an improvement but still not good enough. Not sure next step. Maybe go find some type of cushion to sit on.

Any suggestions for a seat cushion?

Did get my Homelink installed today, of course the garage door remote system is too old. Probably will be going to Sears this weekend.

Gas mileage in town in computes out around 15-16. Maybe a tad worse than the Jeep but at least I can run regular. The jeep was touchy. I had to run the middle grade so it would not ping real bad when trying to pass on the highway. It was also sensitive to a certain brand. Was hard starting if I used anything else besides Hess.

Been toying with the idea of purchasing a Nav Unit.

I'm with you. I'm not a fan of the 4R seats. i'm 5'8" and 155lbs. Way too skinny for this seat. The back support is very mismatched for me.
Adding leather for me didn't help much either.

I added Classic Soft Touch leather seats to my Sport within the first week of ownership, so I don't remember how the OE covers and seats felt.
After more than a year, the drivers seat has softened up nicely, however, every so often I sit in the passenger seat and I notice that it is much stiffer. I am sure this is due to much less butt time.

They cost just over $1K front and rear, I am sure you could save $$ if you install yourself. This was my solution to saving $4 or 5K by not buying the Limited...

As some of you know, when I buy a car I buy a car, it is a friend, a companion. I am trying to sell my 1991 4Runner, but am not looking forward to it. She is awesome looking and a real reliable car. 109,000 miles on here now and still running strong.
Anyhow, I have no problem with the seats. It took me less then a week to grow accustomed to the feel of them. I admit at first they did seem uncomfortable. But as far as leather seats go, since like my last 4Runner, I buy a car for the long haul. I figure on replacing the cloth sport seats with leather maybe a few years down the line. it will drastically change the look of the interior as I have seen here on posts. So it will be almost like driving a different car at that time. Does this sound crazy?

The gas mileage shocks me. My wife and I had a loaded Limited Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 V8. We averaged 12-13mpg. Now, with our '04 4 Runner Sport V8, I averaged 19 plus MPG on teh first tank with crappy 87 Octane.

I'm a bit suprised at the seat issue too. Maybe it's size?.? Our Grand Cherokee seat were pretty crappy feeling. Smooshy, no real support, plus I hate leather (I live in Arizona so....).

I'm 6'2" and about 200lbs and the seats are very comfortable for me and my 5'7" 140lb wife (or is that 120lbs)

I adjust the lower cushion support all the way down in the back, and the front of the lower cushion all the way up in the front. Then it's just about perfect!

I'm considering the CST leather myself. Where did you get your's done and how long did they have your T4R?
