4Runner Strength!!

Deaner

I know theres been numerous posts of pulling trailers with a 4runner, but i couldnt find them to ad this and i was pretty proud of it. Also thought id represent Toytecs Ultimate Lift under the heavy tongue weight conditions ive had. THe coils with this lift are awesome and handled beautifully. Hardly compressed when i loaded the trailer and truck on.

So heres my 97 4Runner 4x4 with the Toytec Ultimate lift pulling my buddies old 98 Nissan Pathfinder and a **** load of scrap metal in it. I found it pretty ironic since i use to be a diehard Pathfinder fan before i got my Runner in august lol.

The weight scale amounted to 3760lbs of scrap plus the trailer weighing approximately 1000lbs. So i was pulling around 4700-4800lbs. Pulled it without the ECT on or the O/D off the revolutions stayed at 1900RPMS at 100km/hr and never went above 3000 when speeding up. THESE TRUCKS F*CKING KICK ASS!!!!! whoever says they cant pull sh!t then they dont know what theyre talking about.

This trucks do kick some butt! HA HA HA!

6 months in with "ours", I couldn't agree more. Last weekend my 5yo and I went to home depot for quikrete. I stared by getting 8 60# bags. After they were loaded I gauged the sag and went right back in and bought the last 7 bags.
I should have taken a picture, but with 900# of concrete in the back, the "sag" looked about like Deaners up there pulling the trailer.

i pulled the biggest uhaul trailer they have loaded top to bottom with my crap, probably weighed 3000-4000 pounds, drove great. im now fully converted

At least right now, my 4Runner pulls better then my 80 series LC. The 3.4L is the little engine that could.

I have pulled a broken 1st gen 4Runner almost 200 miles through rough country, and while it didn't like the big hills, it went to work with no complaints... and stayed cool while doing so. My 80 has more grunt, but starts to overheat when the load gets big and the speed lessens.

The 3rd gens will pull pretty much anything you put back there within reason.
