I agree, I tried truecar.com...I located one 30 miles away from me. They gave me a call....we were talking about pricing...and the salesman said we have one coming in soon, the color I wanted to....$6K mark up (49K for the 4Runner), HA! I said you must be kidding. Most people pay any where from 41K-43K. I said no thanks, I'm not that desperate! I can wait! His excuse was this is the "last one" they are getting. LOL!

From what I understand, that's standard for an unlimited rubicon. Dealers mark them up and people blindly pay it.

with what they are charging for the TRD Pros the sunroof should have come standard.

Crazy. Reminds me of a conversation I had with a salesman at Tyson's Corner Toyota....asking for 5k over MSRP....
Salesman: "There are only 7 of these in the entire county!!!"
Me: "Well cars.com as 67 available right now....see (show him my cell phone)"
Salesman: "BTW, our price online is not correct" (came down to somewhere still over MSRP.) "They are only making Inferno color, because no one wants Super White, that would get too dirty, and Black is too hard to keep clean. You want Inferno color!"
Me: "Actually I don't really need an orange car, it's just not me. Super White with black contrast looks great though. Can you find me one in white?"
At any rate...I just really wanted the test drive that day....
I had slightly better experience with truecar.com, but the fine print says it either 'does not' or 'may not' apply to limited distribution vehicles (like TRD Pro). but hey, if anyone may honor the truecar.com price, it can't hurt to try...any dealer I found that may have honored that price did not have the car in Super White. another tip is to use different zip codes in truecar.com, get some quotes from 60 or 100 miles away...you might find someone to honor the price with the car in stock. I did this for zip codes all around the country...

i'm glad it didn't. I had stopped looking at 4runners entirely because the first one I drove had a sunroof and my head was literally at the ceiling.

I happy to be without the sunroof, but I wish we had the roof rack from the 11-13' Trails.

I agree. While a sunroof seems to be a cool thing it's just another thing to break or leak at some point. If it had come with one I really don't think I would have used it here in hot and steamy Alabama. We love our AC down here and if you leave it open the inside of your 4runner will be a nice yellow from the pollen this time of year.
The rack from 11-13 trails would have matched perfectly like they were made for the Pro's.

My thoughts exactly, and that's why I ordered a Trail instead of Trail Premium. I don't need a sunroof, and especially do not need "puddle lights ..."
I'd prefer to step in a puddle!

i plast-dipped the roof rails black and the rear emblems in gun metal gray this last saturday. sorry, no pics yet. but here is some advice for those that want to do the same:
1. on the rear emblem, use a flat toothpick to peel away the inner parts of the "T", not a flat head screwdriver. the toothpick method is tedious and time consuming (as you will snap about a dozen toothpicks before the plasti-dip peels away), but the screwdriver will leave small scuffs on the black background.
2. again, on the rear emblem, do not tape/mask of the area between the "T" and the "4runner". although you might think the opposite, this will make it harder to peel it away as you have less of the plasti-dip to hold on to when peeling.
3. on the rack rails - i took my cross bars off. i would not recommend this. when you put them back on it will inevitably damage the plasti-dip. in hindsight, i would leave them on and just tape them off. after i put the cross bars back on, i had quite a bit of touch up to do.
4. let that last layer of plasti-dip dry at least 30 minutes. that will make the peeling process easier.
5. make sure you really get the rear emblem from every angle. there are a couple thin spots on the "4runner" letters, you need to particularly pay attention to the corners of the letters.

agree! i'll take some pics tonight when i get home from work (if it's not too dark).
or
i might wait until i install the 3/4" front spacer and 1.25" spidertrax this weekend, and just take pics of everything.

Hey all, just got a call from our dealer and he said the trd pro is in their inventory with a production date of 4/2. We put in a request for white or inferno and we are getting white, which is my first choice but inferno was my wife and sons first choice. We live in spokane washington and was wondering what your guys average wait time was from production date. We are so excited.

Ordered January 31st. My TRD PRO will have be arriving at the New York port this weekend and be delivered before the end of the month.... ETA when I first ordered was mid-late April. So roughly 3months.

Ordered mine around the end of February and just picked it up today from the dealer (inferno). Love the color, my wife does not like it lol.

King, here's what my letters look like in white. I'm probably gonna peel them and redo them in the Gunmetal or Anthracite to match the front.
I've also already done: SpiderTrax & Suspension Spacers. I have a lot more planned for it.
