4runner TRD Pro

I had a TRD Pro on order since day one at a dealer where I previouly purchased my 2011 Trail. Only to find out the day that the TRD Pro arrived, the dealer was now asking $5000 over MSRP due to the initial limitation. I told them I will pass, and thanked them for not keeping to our agreement. Not to terribly upset, I did a search of local dealers a found three TRD Pro's here in San Diego. One dealer offered me a $500 off MSRP, and just took the deal.

Ps. It's a toss up! Trail or TRD Pro.. I like them both.

It's upsetting that they didn't honor the original deal. Glad you have other options.

I've watched T4R owners customize/personalize their trucks specific to their needs. Like many here it "was love at first site," couldn't get the dealer fast enough and throw them my money. After realizing they were simply selling the sizzle and the steak wasn't even on the burner I had time to monitor this site and really see what I needed in a T4R.

After doing the math I decided on converting a TEP to a TEPP (Trail Edition Premium Pro). It may be overkill for some, however for the few extra dollars it was a T4R built the way I wanted/needed.

I've never had the opportunity to drive the TRDP and look forward to seeing one soon so we can get these trucks together.

If you want a TRDPRO that bad its best to doing a nationwide search and find a dealer that has it. Locate it, fly there, pick it up, and drive it home. That's what I would do. Mane people on here have done the same. I myself flew to Illinois to purchase a vehicle and drove it back to California.

We just had that happen at our dealership I believe to the one we got in recently. Less than 24 hours to get nabbed up after delivery

Your TEPP looks great. If I was to go the TEP route I would actually try to look different than the TRDP. I wouldn't get the same wheels and black out the same spots specially if my setup was better.

Came in with all of 1 mile on the odometer. Impressive they can get from plant to ship to rail to truck with 1 mile.

I posted a few weeks ago, and have been in the same boat. It seems like there are a few of us here making the same debate.

Today I called the dealer and scratched the TRDP in favor of a TEP, which I will modify to my needs.

The deciding factor for me was that the TRDP doesn't have the option for KDSS, and the reviews around here are really in favor of it for DD. I think I'm better off lifting a TEP (if, after taking it out a few times, still sounds like a good idea) rather than regretting not having it since retrofitting a TRDP isn't an option.

And Mooney, thanks for posting your build thread!

To the folks staying the course with the TRDP's... you won't get any arguments from me, I just wanted to share my decision with any others that might be on the same fence.

Why is this impossible? I've purchased cars with 1 mile on the ODO before.

Careful now. It had not been through the PDR process. I drove it from the storage lot where it got dropped off to the dealership to have that process completed and it went to 2. It was over a mile but registered 1 until about 6 blocks when 2 hit the odometer.

I'm having a tough time pulling the hook off my lip. Sure I've made a few changes, but can't seem to veer away from the TRDP look. Many on this forum are very creative and its been a great opportunity to utilize their ideas, experience and guidance. However not having that creative eye keeps me close to the TRDP dock.

I'm pretty sure we're going to see some awesome mods to the TRDP, as people customize.

I'm so sorry, if it makes you feel better the same thing happened to me two days earlier at another dealer. I was on the verge of booking airfare to KC (only $200) to make a purchase.

My dealer told me yesterday that a car hauler bringing Pro's to Denver got caught in a hail storm. Everyone of them suffered hail damage. Maybe a Hail Sale?

Good Evening Everyone!

I just recently picked my Super White TRD Pro about 5 days ago. I completely agree with TRDPPRORUNNER it is a very capable vehicle, I only have 300 miles on mine and have taken it through a little bit of off-road and I have to say it's a very smooth and comfortable ride.

With regards to the adjustability of the suspension I'll be taking my Pro to the Dealer today and see if they can raise it one more notch.

Am planning on purchasing a TRDP, absolutley love the Inferno. Has anyone out there who has one on reserve or done the research have any idea on delivery date?

If I went black or white I'd probably go with a TEP, but hope I have enough patience for inferno....opcorn:
