That is my understanding that it is full synthetic. I however wouldn't wait 10,000 miles for the first oil change on a brand new vehicle. I'd probably get it changed in 3000.

To each their own but Toyota would not release those number if it wasn't extensively tested. Getting it changed at 3,000 is just following an old paradigm IMHO. I could understand those used to doing it at 5000 miles but 3000 miles not so much. I'm willing to bet most just follow the manual and recommendation from Toyota themselves and to do I have not seen any major problems with our 4Runners following the 10,000 mile oil change.

Yes, I come from the days of old school and changing at 3k miles. My last couple Tacomas were 5k and when switched to synthetic I ran 9 - 10k. Never had any issues.

Cool to know that synthetic is in our rigs and good for 10k between changes!

Just "ordered" an Inferno 4Runner TRDP through a local dealer on Monday. They say they have a black one coming in that isn't spoken for. Nobody ahead of me on any list for the Inferno either.

Says it usually takes about a week for Toyota to confirm the allocation and for it to show up in the system. When I asked if they'll even be able to get one he said I'll be fine. Original estimates are 2-3 months.

I have no idea how much of this information is accurate but I'm just relaying to you all what I was told and can compare it to what actually happens.

We'll see!

Toyota's tolerances are historically pretty tight. In the beginning you will have more wear as the engine breaks in, correct? If that's the case I'd rather have those small metal shavings etc... only circulate through the system for 3000 miles instead of 10,000 miles. After the first oil change I have no problems going out to 8-10,000 miles.

I finally picked up my Super White TRD Pro yesterday. It was an amazing ride home. I'm having some trouble w/ the "never ending/won't complete" updating on the Entune, but otherwise I have no complaints.

The vehicle turns heads and it's a pleasure to drive.

Congrats on the new Pro. Just curious what update you are talking about on the entune. I would believe that it would have the latest update. Wondering if anyone with the Pro is having to update.

Picked up the new rig yesterday and had to get it a little dirty. It performed flawlessly throughout everything I could find to throw at it. I am really happy with the purchase. I also added picture of the aftermarket moonroof that was installed by a certified Toyota shop that carries a warranty through Toyota.

This looks really good for aftermarket parts, nice job. I am curious as to whether it would be possible to hook this up to the factory sunroof control panel rather than using the controls provided with the roof? Obviously you would need to order the buttons from Toyota since the TRDP has a blanked out plate.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to have the dealer install this using factory parts?

Not sure if it's been posted or not yet, but I find it interesting that the TRDP's have the "non-premium" side view mirrors - i.e., no turn signals. Seems like Toyota decided at the last minute to turn non-premium Trails into TDRP's. Strange that they would do the interior, but not the sunroof or mirrors.

This is due to testing results of extreme off road conditions that can cause the chassis to flex with possible risk of sunroof breaking under stress. The premium turn lights have been also omitted as obstacles and brush will come into contact with the mirrors frequently during off road use.

TRDPro Clunk

Tried searching - could not find anything on this topic.

I just got my TRDPro a couple weeks ago and noticed that when I go over larger bumps - like a speed bump - there is a bit of a clunk coming from the front of the truck. Totally gone over standard road bumps. I'm not sure if I am being hypersensitive or maybe it is "normal" for this suspension.

Anyone else experience this?

I notice suspension seems more pronounced in chatter over standard bumps as the car warms up. Little less I suspect when suspension heats up. I really don't know how to explain the sound but I hear something as well.

Similar here, more pronounced on the driver side. while turning. Less when the wheels are straight. Ironically, I hear/feel it more over smaller pothole's vs larger bumps.

waiting for parts in port

I signed for my black TRD Pro last week. I was told that it was in port and that it should be in sometime this week. The dealer called me and told me that the delivery of the vehicle was delayed because "they are waiting for parts at port." He told me that some of the TRD Pro parts are assembled at port, specifically mine is waiting on the skid plate.

Is it true that some parts are put on at port? I just never heard of something like that. I assumed that the vehicle was shipped to port fully assembled. What do you guys think?

Mine does it too. Very mild clunk at low speed over minor bumps. I don't notice it over speed bumps or at speed.
