Thanks for the response. I would be happy to provide you all my data if you want it, but it doesn't really bother me if I know the exact answer or not. I would hate for you to do a bunch of calculations unless you really wanted to know for yourself. If you do want it I will give you an excel export of all the data points. All I know is that I love driving the 4runner and a 1-2 mpg change does not bother me at all. I just thought it was interesting that I did not have that much of a difference as I was sure there would have been one.
I am curious about one thing tho, which is somewhat related. When I use up a tank driving in the mountains I get better gas mileage then driving on highways in the front range which is relatively flat. This seems completely backwards to me. Do you or anyone else know why the truck would get better MPG during a trip up and back down from the mountains then driving the same distance on flat ground? I'm specifically talking about I-70 in the summer and I'm driving about the same speed as I would drive in town on the flat highway.
