4runner TRD Pro

whoa! i just traded in my 08 STi last week on my white TRD pro..i searched for in stock and only found white/black at Lustine, and I do remember there was only one Orange TRDP shown within MD/VA/DE/NC so they may have been telling the truth. grats!

Lustine is the first place I went for that white one haha... I thought they were BSing me when they said someone else had just come in looking to trade their STi. I got there about an hour after you must have driven it off the lot. I'll keep an eye out for you on the road!

Another NOVA guy here. It seems in the last week at least 4 TRD PROs were sold in the Northern Virginia area: packman's, blacksheep4's, another inferno sold by Koons Tysons which I missed out on evidently by minutes, and this one. That's my son in the photo. He's starting to drive which made a great excuse to get back into Toyota 4X4's.

Got mine today. Since I work for the dealer, I got mine for invoice minus holdback. Perks of working at the dealership.

Pictures just DO NOT do this color justice. It is absolutely stunning in person.

Now the modding begins.

Here it is! I picked it up yesterday evening and drove it off the lot with 3 miles on it.
Don't hate on the illegal parking, this is where I found it parked when I arrived at the dealer to pick it up. Which means I guess I was a criminal as soon as I took possession of the keys? This thing is already getting me in trouble!

It was pretty entertaining to see the crowd of sales guys around the TRDP the entire time. Even more entertaining was the customer who was telling another salesmen, right in front of me no less, that he would pay more for it than I had and could pay cash on the spot if they would sell it to him right then and there.

I will more than likely start up a build thread here in the coming weeks with more photos and plans. I can't wait to get it in the dirt and to start mod'ing this beast! For the record, mine came with the trimmed plastic at the front side of the front wheel wells.

Right Toyota! I always take my 4Runner there they are great. Let me know if you want to break it in here in Sedona!

Thanks! Today we took it up Schnebly Hill for an easy first dirt trip. Other spots we like are mostly in west Sedona like Greasy Spoon, Van Deren Cabin and Outlaw trail. Sedona is supposed to get very cold and some precipitation in the next few days so I might get to see how it drives in a little snow.

I saw your post in another section and then the picture in Sedona. I also live here in Sedona so if you ever want to go hit some trails my g/f and I try to get out a few times a month with our 4Runner.

Just picked up mine last Saturday! Traded in my 2010 Limited. I loved my limited but I'm glad I upgraded. I'll miss the sunroof and full time all wheel drive but I have no regrets! Inferno goes great with my cherrybomb Buell!

MPG Question

Hey all, this is my 1st Toyota, I spent a long many years in various land rovers and made the switch for a TRD back in late Sept. I just hit 6,000 miles and I'm getting exactly 16 mpg. I do have an ARB Touring rack on top, but that's it so far. I've owned a Discovery & a Range Rover, both with huge racks fully loaded with gear and i got better MPG in those. Am I the only one or is this a trend? I haven't called the dealer yet as I'm thinking it's more the Nitto's than anything, but again 1st time Toyota guy here. Thanks in advance for any feed back.

hey folks..

me and my father has been talking about getting a new runner to replace my mum's benz and give her the Lexus.

I would like to know what everyone paid for their's?

thanks.

Here is what is crazy coming from the Springs. I always got terrible gas mileae wen I drove any heavy slightly underpowered vehicle anywhere there where you where say 5500 feet and up. I am sure that is not the only factor as the higher % of ethanol in the gas is ever present there. I alos think that the 4runner lacks in at leadt another gear unfortunately to get better mileage there. I think you are colse to what you will get. Before I left I had a Silverado and got 13-14mpg should have been much higher.

Not being a smarta$$, but is a TRD Pro best for your mom? Limited or SR5 seems would be a better choice?

Thanks, I figured I'm kind of sol. I forgot to mention I live around 8500' feet, however I just drove from here to Chicago and back and when I started, i was getting 18 mpg, as the trip wore on, the mileage decreased. Again kind of going uphill coming home, but it's just odd to me.
