4runner TRD Pro

Vlad, could you post some pictures with the 1/4 top plate spacer installed. That would be great to see. I think a few of us are interested in going this way but I'm curious if 1/4 is enough or would 1/2 be a little better. A very slight rake is cool and I think 1/4 might be the ticket. Thanks.

I will post some pictures up tomorrow. Its already dark here in Vegas, shocking I know. I didn't get measurements before the spacer was added, but I will get measurements of the current height.

The spacer really did even it out, I actually think the rear is now 1/8 lower than the front. Oh well more reason to do a LT on the front!

Giving it a try

Vlad, if I go by the link you gave then that kit should add approx. 3/4 inch lift. I ordered two 1/4 plates that is supposed to add 1/2 inch. It's not very expensive so I decided to give it a try. Definitely still want to see the pictures.

Did you put a spacer on both the driver and passenger sides?

Natetech. I did put it on both sides.

The ones I have, the plates themselves are 1/4 Thick. It gave me a pretty decent lift. Photos will be up tomorrow.

I think the passenger side spring is already set at the lower position. If you drop the driver's side down you would then have the side to side lean everyone hates.

hmm, mine is set to the higher ring on both sides. i looked at it before but you made me think twice and i rechecked it.

Did you get an alignment?

Law- Was it difficult painting the 4runner badge and toyota logo on the back of your rig to match the black trd pro badge on the side? Just wondering how you went about finding the right color to match. Love the look.

I asked him about this already, he used a gunmetal Plastidip it's not a perfect match but it's close enough.

Good Afternoon Peeples!

Alright, so to start off both my from shocks are set to the highest ring, which in all TRDP is the second ring. We for some reason do not have the top most ring like on 5100s. For alignment, the suspension spacers and the SpiderTrax actually fixed the alignment issue I already had.

Now to my spacers. They are those little silver ones on top of the shock.

This is the best picture I could get of how it looks now.

Vlad, did you move your passenger side coil up to the second setting? Mine came with it set on the lower ring. If you did move it up, how does your lean from side to side look?

Pics of my stock settings below. Drivers side is first.

Bevo, I didn't move either of my coils. They were both on the second setting when I pulled them out. I talked to one of my Toyota Techs, he told me the reason that one sides higher than the other is to compensate for the drivers weight in the vehicle. I think you gotta be pretty large to level out the truck in that manner.

I would just bring the passenger side up. That way you have an even look instead of a confused lop sided truck.

That is strange. Mine is level with the passenger side on the lower ring without me in the truck. I read the same thing about it compensating for the extra weight on the drivers side(gas tank, driver, battery, etc). If I moved the passenger side up it would not be level for sure.

Hi all,

I purchased a 4Runner TRD Pro in super white 30 days ago. It has 1400 miles on it. Some personal finance issues came up and I unfortuantely need to sell it.

I would normally post a classified but I know there are still many following this thread with interest to get one.

I live in Orange County/ Los Angeles area. Email me: [email protected] or message me through T4R.

Email sent.

weird... yeah mine is set to higher ring on both sides and my truck is level.

Just picked up my super white TRDP today and I'm very happy with it.

Would someone please direct me to the 3 settings the shocks can adjust to? I cant recall which page on this thread had the pictures. Thank you!

Josh, there are only 2 settings on our shocks; Upper Ring and Lower Ring.

the pre production trucks you saw in all the press releases had the 3 rings... but they were "pre production"

the production trucks (ours) ended up with just two and they're (mostly) set to the higher ring...some are set one lower for passenger side from what we've learned here so far.

why we only got 2 rings probably has to do with lawyers or some part not passing test at that hight... who knows.
