Agreed. I test drove an SR5 in January, and it was noticeably tighter on the road. A lot had to do with suspension and tires. But the Pro is bouncier for sure. It's not a bad feeling but it is quite different.

Interesting -- I do like the way my Limited handles. I suppose for a truck it's tighter -- the XREAS coupled with the 20" wheels w/lower pro tires probably the main reason. I think the softer won't put me off,....might take some getting used to like a few other things - no push button start, no full time 4WD, etc. I traded an '03 Sport for the Limited I have now,...it took some getting used to when I made the switch. But the Pro pretty much has everything I could want in a truck,...at least for what I like.

Wanted to say hello as I just joined the Forum today. I bought my TRD Pro a few weeks ago after test driving all the 4runners. Coming from an '04 Land Cruiser the TRDP feels like a Porsche. :driving:

Wow,..a Porche? In terms of what, ride, comfort, tech? Land Cruisers are really nice.

Clearly an exaggeration, but the LC's have terrible on-road handling, except when you're up to speed on the highway or going for a cruise through town. Great off road, but the body role and the mechanicals' ability to start/stop and take all that weight and high CoG around a corner aren't too good.
The TRDP feels much more planted with the wider stance and the suspension comes with comparatively little body role or dive and squat. Really just a much more responsive setup.

The biggest gripe I have coming from a '13 limited is pretty stupid. But, I still curse it nearly every day for not having the proximity sensors in the door handles and a push button start. I don't mind starting it with a key but I did get used to never taking them out of my pocket to get in. And for the first week, I realized I had forgotten how long you have to hold the key over to start it...lol. I kept bumping the starter....
I also miss the info in the center dash section. That was much easier to get used to though. I never look at it now that it is just a clock.
The Inferno was pretty weird for me too color-wise considering I almost always have black white silver or blue. I still am not used to the orange and generally don't like drawing attention to myself. It is the best looking dirty car I have ever owned tho. I'm not great about keeping my vehicles clean on the exterior and this one is going to pay off in that respect.
That said I love this truck. I'm really looking forward to adding a rack, bumper, and sliders. Just not sure when i am going to get to do that yet. :/

All the concerns I have you share. I do like the door handle sensors and push button start, but I'll get used to that. And, as much as I think the Inferno color looks really good on this truck I'm still wondering if I wouldn't want a black one instead. There's another dealer in my area due to get a black on around the same time as the Inferno I put the deposit down on. It's actually the dealer I bought my Limited from. My '03 Sport was black, but the TRD Pro is a lot of black. Looks great but kinda reminds me of Darth Vader -- no, I should stick with the Inferno,...step outside of my box.

I also have only had black and silver cars and went with the inferno. I wanted black but couldn't find one, so I got the inferno and I love it. Definitely a head turner and I don't like that much attention either ... haha that being said I am definitely glad I couldn't find a black one. Looks awesome clean and even better dirty like everyone has said.

That's definitely a plus that it looks great even when dirty. Looking at some of the images the Inferno's you're right -- it does look good dirty. STICKING WITH THE INFERNO!

I'm in the same boat. Have always had conservative colors, i.e., many silver, one black, and a gold TLC. Happy I pushed myself to get the Inferno. Black shows every imperfection and only looks good clean. Too much work in terms of upkeep. White doesn't show the imperfections but doesn't look very good dirty. I actually test drove a white TRDP in western MA at a dealership that was under construction. The car was filthy outside and it steered me away from getting the white.
Inferno really is a dynamic color in different lights. Sometimes it looks like a burnt matte orange, while other times it looks fire red. Really cool.

I second that... I'm looking to get a used LC pretty soon. My pro doesn't feel like a Porsche in terms of Ride, quality, comfort, and tech. But I do assume the LC will be more comfortable in terms of ride quality.

Already answered that above.
The TRD Pro is ahead of a 100 series in ride and handling. Can't speak to the 200 series, but I'm sure it's an improvement over the hundy.

I'm really looking foward to testing driving the Pro -- my Limited handles pretty well and I really do like it, but the extra utility that comes with the Pro is really the thing that drew me in -- and it looks awesome.

I liked the LE's on road manners. The 20's, low pros and X-REAS combine to make great handling. I think the TRDP will comparatively seem more bouncy w/ a bit more role, but it's very slight. I don't mind it given how plush it is. Like I said, coming from the LC, the TDRP seems crisp. Also, the New England winter was brutal and now we have terrible roads. The TRDP eats them up without breaking a sweat.
A warning: you may not be able to say no once you drive the TRDP. :boink: I had no intention of buying one. I was actually at Best Buy buying a wireless router and I had to drive by the dealership. Saw a new 200 series LC and an orange thing next to it that looked evil. Next weekend it was in my driveway.

Yeah, I know,...and I know myself pretty well too. As soon as I get that call from the dealer saying "we got it" the excitement will start. I'll arrive at the dealer and see this brand new, beautiful TRD Pro,...get in,....and breathe in that delicious new car smell I'll be hooked. I'll have to have it.
So the dealer you got yours from had it sitting on the lot for a while before you bought it?

Yup. Well, a few weeks. I really knew nothing about them until I saw it next to the LC. Always kept my eye out for a 200 series LC...just to take a look in person, but when this orange TRDP was next to the silver LC, how can you not look at it? Spent the next week researching them and found 3 or 4 on lots in MA unspoken for. 2 of the dealers would play ball in terms of negotiating, but one was on the other side of the state (super white TRDP). Test drove both and ended up liking the Inferno, which happened to be 20 minutes from home and a better deal. Somehow my wife didn't divorce me.
All dealers I spoke to told me they'd sold all TRD Pro Tundras, Tacomas and 4runners for MSRP or more. They also told me they don't know that they're going to get them until they show up on the carrier. They've had the carrier show up with a TRDP and then it leaves with it going to another top dealer in the Boston area. Weird system, but I guess it works given the limited production.

Wow, interesting. Thanks for the back story. I suppose what kind of deal you get is based more on the demand depending on the area you live in. I'm in the D.C. metro area,...northern VA. All the dealers I've talked to around here are not dealing below MSRP. They may have done in earlier on but I think that's done. They know when they're getting them and they know they can sell them very quickly. I had to put a deposit down just to hold it. Even tried going through the USAA buying program where they usually honor the "true car savings" or whatever. No dice. They told me,..."yeah, we're not gonna honor that for the TRD Pro's". I actually tried calling two Maryland dealers and they said they can't even get them in -- I guess NOVA is sucking them all in.
