If you pay msrp, let alone more, for any mass produced vehicle you have more money than brains. Good troll...
Is 3000 vehicles considered "mass produced".

It's a 4Runner, so yeah, it's manufactured in the same facility as all the other 4runner models... As usual, Toyota has done a masterful job of marketing and selling the public on the limited availability of these Pro models across all 3 platforms... but I see them sitting on the lot for weeks, sometimes months up in the northeast. It's just another 4Runner in this market area.
I have a 2017 TRD Pro 4 Runner in Cement locked in at 2500 under msrp. It can't be that special if a dealer is willing to do that 4-5 months before mass production of 2017 models begin...
Since you seem to have the inside line on dealerships letting the TRDPs go for less than MSRP, care to share? I think quite a few in this community would benefit for some actual contact information...dealer name...phone #...anything.
Seems the consensus is sticker, or slightly over due to dealer markup. What someone is willing to pay is all relative to their situation.
That being said, I've recently put my name in the hat for a 2017 - dealer said there are about 12 people who've put in for an allocation as the 2016s are done for the region and all outstanding orders will be '17s.
How true! I gave my salesman's name in my post, but what someone else gets as a deal has little to do with what I, or anyone else, was able to negotiate.Lastly, I'd give you my salesman but I believe in equal opportunity, but not equal outcome. Good luck.
That has to be the best plate you can get in the Union. (Don't tread on me)
I do not have the inside line at all by any means. I just knew exactly what I wanted so I went to all 5 dealerships in my area gave them 3 days to accept my offer. If they accepted I gaurunteed them 10's on their survery so they can work toward the corporate kickbacks and annual awards.
My only advice would be to find the highest volume dealer in your area that you're willing to travel to and start there. Dealer sales leaders per region don't get to that position by selling their vehicles at msrp (especially in this truecar environment)... Tell them I want this this and this and in return you'll get 10's, make some $ above invoice (to keep the lights on and pay the employees) plus you'll get your holdback from Toyota (all profit which generally goes directly into the dealership owners pocket but sometimes if a certain nuber is reached he cuts in the sales manager(s)) and be one unit closer to your sales goal with zero stress. Those sales goals are big money for dealerships who achieve them along with getting perfect 10's on customer feedback surveys... That's worth more than 1-2K dollars off a single vehicle... dealers who get these awards get hundreds of thousands of dollars in bonus money come year end if they make it from corporate as recognition in their ability to peddle the product. Toyota didn't get to be the #1 in sales worldwide by selling vehicles for msrp... One just has to find the right dealer to see the bigger picture. Some dealers I ran in to weren't trying to achieve sales volume... they were trying to make profit by selling near, at or above msrp... I simply laughed and walked away... 10 miles away I found the dealer that accepted my offer. keep asking until you get the answer you want. Remember you are the consumer and you hold the power in both $ and survery responses on satisfaction.
Lastly, I'd give you my salesman but I believe in equal opportunity, but not equal outcome. Good luck.
You may be missing the point of the last few posts. Do not look to and settle for only what you can get off sticker. All areas of the sale are subject to negotiation. The more you know the better able you will be to negotiate a decent deal.
And hopefully that dealer doesn't renege on that deal when it actually arrives....
anybody here actually gotten $2500 off MSRP? Last I checked there was only $2600 from invoice to sticker and I worked at Toyota. I think plenty are paying sticker and even over but hey, who'd want to admit that? They are certainly holding their value so far based on what I see dealers asking for them used
Wouldn't it cost more money in the long run for the guys who do this than if they would have just bought a pro in the first place? Isn't the grill swap alone a few hundred?
Hi! I'm just learning my way around the forum. Got my truck back in September. Marine Corps veteran so quicksand was an instant eye catcher for me. Want to meet some people in the so cal area to go off roading!
