4runner TRD Pro

Gas mileage is the big one. Especially once you start or do any modifications to it.

I've been curious about this, and didn't realize that some of the 5th Gens were full-time and some were part-time.

So, on the ones that are part-time 4WD, is it like my 3rd Gen where it's just RWD until you shift/push button into 4WD? If so, I loooooove that.

My trail premium is just like my 3rd gen, manual transfer case 4wd. But yeah the limiteds are full time, and sr5s just have an electronic transfer case.

c350z, how would you compare the ride to your sr5 (assuming it was stock)? Can you tell a difference in the lack of nose dive, etc compared to your sr5?

yes my SR5 was stock, the rides seems better in the TRD Pro to me.

It feels like it has less body roll on curvy roads, and takes bumps better.

Thanks for the kind words. I ended up swapping the original tires for the KO2s 275 the next day, just really liked the aggressive look of the tire...

The white lettering mounted out looks SO proper...but I'm scared to go that route myself on MGM! Decisions...decisions.

The 'TRD Off-Road' trim is the new name for the 'Trail' and the 'TRD Off-Road Premium' is the new name for, you guessed it - the 'Trail Premium'. There isn't going to be a TRD Pro 'Premium' - just the regular TRD Pro for 2017.

I'm debating between the Trail premium and the Pro. Other than the KDSS and shocks, is there any other mechanical difference? which is a better deal?

So far it seems I can get fully loaded trail for about 40k and Pro for its MSRP $42.

Mechanically the only difference I am aware of is the Pro suspension which gives you a little lift over the TEP version. Pro has no KDSS option of course and you can still add a lift to it (up to 3"). Only other differences are cosmetic with exception of the sunroof which you get with premium on the trail. I've had the same dilemma and I feel the trail is a better option for me since I want KDSS and sunroof..and a lift is not that costly. I do wish the TEP's had the same color options of the Pro though.

Oh, and the Pro gets auto headlights if that's an issue for you whereas the TEP does not.

KDSS is the main reason why i would like to go trail. Now, does that make huge difference in ride quality in town? Can it be added on to the pro?
