Thank you! Yeah it's nothing too crazy. Still a daily driver. Just wanted to be able to take it camping and to the lake without worrying about small obstacles stopping me.

Well a couple weeks ago I went ahead and replaced my front o2 sensor. With the P0171 code and bad gas mileage I was hoping this would help. Came right off. But the clip was a pain!
Got a new one from Rockauto
Also replaced the fuel filter. Pretty simple. Used a regular wrench on it. No rust so it came right off. Took all of 5 minutes. Got the filter from Camelback parts online.

This weekend I replaced the rear hatch shocks! Got tired of holding it up! Got the Monroe 901446 from Rockauto. They were 26 something shipped! I just used a pole to hold up one side. While I put it on. One side at a time. Pretty simple job.
They are actually a little slimmer than the oem ones. Should gain a few HP from the weight reduction! [emoji12]

Why did you replace the front O2 and not the back? The downstream one is typically the one that causes issues. I did the same thing though, had it explained to me that the rear one gets "lazy" and throws emission related codes. Ended up getting the downstream one too.
Man I need to replace the gas shocks on my hatch. Such a PITA and even worse in the cold.

I didn't replace the rear because I read that one would throw an emission code. Like a P0420. And that the front one going bad will cause bad gas mileage. And I heard that the rear one going bad won't mess anything up it would just cause more of an annoyance with a check engine light on all the time. Either way, it fixed the problem for a couple weeks. Light came back on while cruising down the highway. I guess it needed replacing anyway. Lol. Now I'm thinking fuel related or MAF sensor. Probably drop the money on MAF first. Since a bad MAF symptoms seem to match what's going on

Took a trip to Shnebly Hill Road that goes into Sedona last weekend with the family. Really the first major trail I've been on with the rig so far. It did awesome!
Took a few pics.

Other than that, nothing major going on. Got another baby on the way. Baby boy this time! Pretty excited. So medical bills have been taking all my build money. [emoji20]
Still need to get my P0171 code figured and diagnose a couple other things. But it's still running great!

Well I have done a couple things to the rig and wanted to update the thread a little bit. I finally figured out my P0171 code. It ended up being the MAF sensor. So I ditched the Truflow oiled air filter just for precaution also and picked both of these up. Got the MAF on Rockauto for $77 shipped. Good deal. One of the screws were stripped. So I had to carefully drill it out without ruining the threads on the intake side. I somehow did it!
After driving behind my wife in the 4runner I realized how bad the rear mud flaps made it look. So I decided to trim them up. I left a little bit of black on there instead of going all the way to the painted part.
I took them both off and kind of eye-balled them to how much I wanted to cut off and then used a razor blade to cut them off. Then I smoothed the edges with some sand paper. Pretty easy job. But made a huge difference.
I also got an Interior LED kit off amazon to get rid of the dim interior lights. Realized how dark they were when we were camping one weekend.
Once it gets dark I will post a night pic of them.

We added a new car seat to the 4runner a month ago. So I've just been doing little things here and there. Yesterday I decided to clay bar, wax, and detail the interior. All clay bar kits are about the same so I got the Mothers Clay bar kit at Wally world
And afterwards hit it with a coat of
Mothers synthetic wax. Man I love the paint on these trucks! They don't paint cars like they used to. Came out pretty damn good
The lighting made the carpet look a little darker than it is. But it came out pretty clean. Also made me realize I need some weathertechs soon. Added it to my list.

Just updating more for my sake.. It was nice out this morning so I decided to swap the front end links to the rear, and take the front Sway Bar off and see if it would improve the ride at all. The front Sway Bar had a lot of pressure on it when I took the links off.
Here is a side by side if the front and back. Fronts are about an inch longer
And a quick photo of how it sat before

Pretty big difference. The rig no longer jerks really bad left to right when leaving the driveway and over small bumps. My ass wiggle problem I was having has decreased also. The front feels a lot better. So I am going to be getting the sway bar drop kit or try to find some extended links at a fair price for the front. I would leave it off but I like the stability around corners, and the wife and kids are usually the ones in it.

Yeah just more of a practical build until it's no longer a daily driver. Thanks for the congrats. You are right on that!

Well I got home from the store this morning and smelt some coolant so I popped the hood. Found a crack in the top of the radiator tank. Took the cap off to see that it had broken too. Guessing a failed cap is what caused it.
So after looking everywhere and posting on here, I was able to find a denso one locally for 135. Not too bad. Hit the dealership for the thermostat, gasket, radiator cap, and coolant. I mentioned Camelback Toyota prices at the dealership close to home and got a 20% discount because they couldn't match them. Haha! Better than nothing. Got Gates hoses at O'Reilly for $10 a piece. Dealership wanted 20 each. Then got home and went to work...
Took the grill off
Started to drain the radiator. Used jackstands to prevent splashing..
I left the upper hose connected, that way when I removed the thermostat, I could flush out the block with some distilled water. Not sure if it did anything but it made me feel better. I Recently did a flush so it wasn't very dirty.

I was honestly surprised by the quality of the denso. Also was shocked to see that it came with the side brackets that are used to mount the radiator to the frame. Was figuring on having to use the old ones.
Got it all reconnected and got all the air out of the system.
Definitely helped my Temps. This was 3 weeks ago
And today
Never went past 190 on the coolant Temps! Perfect!
On a side not, when removing the old thermostat, I noticed that the jiggle valve was at 12 o'clock position. So it does make a difference. Thanks to everyone for their help today.
