Bought an Alpine iLX-007 to replace my Kenwood. Needed something with bluetooth.
Does this mean you're not selling it?

Anything else?
I think you are incorrectly using the phrase "Needs to be addressed"
I was expecting a list of electrical gremlins or unfix-able noises or something.
I do very much like this list though! Any specific plans for the rear link setup?
for some reason I keep thinking you in AZ... but then I realize you're in CA, and the shop here in phx won't do you any good...
Glad you're keeping it...
oh.. well then...
my Axle guy is Nate from Arizona Differential (602-272-4600) he defenitly know's his stuff, and if ANY issue on it (ie leak or something else) he will fix it right... IF he didn't do it the first time.
Some know I've been suffering from some clutch trouble recently. The car refuses to go into first from a stop. So I replaced the master cylinder, which didn't fix the problem. So I decided to replace the slave cylinder too. Well while removing the slave cylinder, I found the hard line that goes from the flex line to the slave is partially stripped. So I called up a friend in the parts department to see if he could get me another one. Turns out there are only 3 of those lines left in the country. So after a few days I have a new one in my hands. Install everything only to find out that didn't fix the problem either.
Well I was scheduled to drive to San Diego this weekend anyways, so I did that stopping as little as possible. (17.5 mpg on the highway by the way, not too bad at 75mph.)
Once I got here I shot my friend and mechanic a text and he said he would take a look at my transmission on Monday. So in the meantime I set out to do what I've wanted to for a very long time, finally tub the driver's side firewall. I made a pretty aggressive chop and it should clear perfectly. Buttoned that up today, but I still had a sour taste in my mouth because I still didn't have a truck that drove properly.
Right after I put the fender back on, I went around and gave everything a once over like a normally do. I torqued the steering rack bolts as well as a few other things. Greased zerks etc. Anyways, I found a tremendous amount of diff oil all over the passenger rear tire and hub. Shit. After removing the axle shaft, I confirmed that my seal and my bearing's are done for.
So I'm frustrated. I haven't been able to wheel because I never tubbed the driver's side firewall, and now that I've done that I have a truck that doesn't even work.![]()
Ouch! Sorry to hear about that, hope you can get it fixed soon.
On a better note, I can't wait to see what you've done with the firewall- I've been looking at the various options for chopping them, curious about how it would work!
I'll post some photos tomorrow if I remember. I did the driver side differently. Basically you can make a sheet of metal that overlaps the sheet metal inside the car, or you can build like a box that fills the gap. It's hard to explain, pictures do it better justice. But basically because I have a 3rd pedal (the clutch), I had to leave as much room as possible near the pedal so my giant foot can get in there.
