Replacing at home or in AZ?

Your beloved Sun Devils have cost me some $$$ in the pigskin game so far this year.

Home! Gotta come home and for a wedding anyways so I'm just gonna drop it off, take the Fiesta back to AZ and get the 4Runner when I come home for Thanksgiving

Tried going up the hard waterfall at the end, which I've done before. However, everything was wet and washed away from the recent rains. No one in our group or the Jeeps behind it made it up. I gave it a solid effort, but couldn't quite get there. Had to get yanked my a Tundra.

Got some body damage from the swing out hitting the hatch when I was trying to climb that waterfall.

Here's a not very documented mod. Swapping in a radiator from a 1995 Toyota Tacoma, 2WD, 4 cylinder. It's 5 inches shorter than my stock radiator. Distance from the ground to the bottom of radiator was 21 inches, afterwards it was 26 inches. Everything bolts up. You'll need a lower radiator hose from the same vehicle. And you need to cut the lower and upper fan shroud slightly.

Radiator ends above my frame rails now. Which means my new front bumper can come back almost 4 inches from where the standard frame rail end cap is.

AutoZone radiator part number is B1778.

Yepp! With a URD short shifter and all. Works really really well!

Installed new steering rack bushings fairly easily. Getting another alignment currently.


Also did the daily driver/tow pig mod.
2004 Ford F-150

Installed a new CarPlay compatible radio and a Mob Armor mount

Ordered 5100's for the front to level it out. Gonna throw some 34's under it soon and call it good.

My step dad has the same year ext cab F-150 in silver. The interior's actually pretty nice and comfortable.

How's the short shifter? I though about it but the one I was researching at the time was like $400+ new so that went out the window quickly! I think it was a TRD short throw. $110 for the URD is palatable.

I really like it. Shortened the throws and genuinely feels really good

I like the F150. A 4.6 or 5.4 under the hood? Changing the plugs in the latter is a job within itself. It will shorten your life. The cam phasers and lifters can also be a job.

It's the 5.4. I'm hoping I don't have to touch it for a while given it only has 60k on it. I'm probably gonna trade it in on something once I graduate. Maybe Powerwagon time or an M3 daily

i was looking for some do-it your self tips and ended up reading your entire thread from the beginning up till the end.

from the time you were washing your car with your dad, till you were about to get your license, and eventually, you welding in your own parts. keep up with the good work, and good luck on your build.

i grabbed some ideas from you that i would like to do to my 4runner! thanks for what you have done!!!
