4Running Daily's Build Thread

Are you still running your 315s without a wheel spacer? When it's time for me to get new tires I'm planning on getting SCS f5 16x8 wheels & deciding between their 4.5 or 3.5 backspacing option. I know the wheel backspacing vs tire clearance is a balancing act especially with 315s. The sweet spot for my current 315s on stock 16x7 with 4.5 backspace on .75 spacers has worked out well but have decided to take the advice I've gotten over the years & run my 315s on the recommended 16x8 to minimize whatever the potential issues are of running 315s on my current 16x7 instead of the recommended 16x8.

I'm running 1" or 0.75" spacers in the front, can't remember what I ended up going with. I definitely suggest going 3.5" just to avoid the hassle of wheel spacers. The "perfect" backspacing for 16x8 and a 315 is 4", but no one makes that.

Edit- They're 0.75"

Thanks for the feedback. Was it mostly frame rub issues you were having without the spacers?

I still rub the frame with spacers. Without spacers my tire was contacting the spindle where the outer part of the hole where the uniball slug presses into? I don't know what to call that part.

The runner is looking badass Connor. The drawer system looks great. Quick question, are you still running sway aways up front? I'm ordering UCAs and coilovers this week and completely forgot I had sway away as an option.

PS. Front lockers are pretty freakin sweet right, and it will definitely get you in trouble. :lookout:

I'm running ADS's as always! My front locker will certainly get me into trouble, but not as much as 37's will :peep:

37 12.50 17 MTR's of course! Wheel it until it breaks and then SAS. I think it'll last longer than everyone seems to think.
40s or no balls
Soon enough
Back at school? Looks good.

Your dad doing better?
Back at school indeed. Thank you!

Yes he is doing better. He's about to get his license back, but he can't drive stick just yet. So we ended up selling the Fiesta and picked up a brand new Electric Golf.

We're hoping he goes back to work in a month or two, probably part time as he transitions back in.

And in other 4Runner news, I ordered some Ballistic Uniballs to see just how hard it is to build lower control arms. Stock length to start.

I'm just looking forward to how much you get to cut to make those fit! Things going to be a monster. As long you wheel smart, I think everything will hold up fine.

We'll see what happens! I'm honestly more excited to build these lowers and never worry about a tight lower ball joint again.
Prove it :pop2:

Currently waiting on 17" Methods from my friend. And then I'm getting the MTR's from another friend once he makes the trip from STL to Phoenix.

Oh I know it will. I've seen it done, I had a buddy in NM with a 1st gen tacoma on 37s. that thing was unstoppable. He even did the Helldorado trail in moab (usually a buggy only trail)

His build: He also has a link on post 1 to where he did his clearancing for 37s.
