Looks good Connor. Maybe upgrade those springs in the rear down the road, for the F150 that is.

Ya the F150 needs rear suspension bad. I don't know what to do yet.

He's doing well! No exotic getaways lately, maybe London in the summer though! Switzerland is still the most beautiful country I've ever seen...

Well the reason I lugged the 4Runner all the way here was to cut for 37's. I knew it was going to be a lot of cutting, even though I've already cut for 35's a number of times. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking, but I started with the passenger side because I don't have to fight the clutch pedal, which I'm worried about.


So first I pulled the spring off my ADS coilovers, took the bumps tops off, and cycled the suspension all the way up to full bump to see what I'm dealing with.

In a straight line, nothing rubs. Not surprising.

So time to start cutting. I bought myself a new Ryobi angle grinder and man it is fantastic.

I also rub the body mount. So I cut 2 reliefs and bent it back with the intent to weld it back together and grind it smooth.

Next, I tackled the other area I rub, under the airbox.

Well thats easy, cut it!

After cycling again, the tire rubs on the airbox itself hahahaha. So I used some washers to space the airbox up about 3/4".


Then it was time to patch! 16 gauge cut and bent in place

Tac welds for days. A new 220V welder will find its way into my possession in early 2018 because this is annoying.

These tags are really all you need though, around the entire plate.

Then just add some sealant.

I'll bedline it after I patch the firewall tomorrow and it should be good as new!

Welds will get sand down tomorrow. Had to run out and grab a flap disc. Seal it all up, paint it and move on to the drivers side.

Definitely will get a coat of wax before I head back. The F150 is getting a complete paint detail. I don't think it's ever been buffed.


We do still have the Porsche. I'm its only driver since February. I've put about 500 miles on it since then haha. It will be sold once my dad comes to terms with the fact that he'll never be able to drive it again. It's neglected. Oil lines need to be replaced, clutch needs to be replaced. If it stays as long as the summer, I may end up doing the work with my Porsche mechanic friend, but even then, those 2 items are $2500 in parts alone.

Any plans to notch the frame? That was always my steering stopper and I can see its limiting you too.

Ya I definitely got myself in deep on this one hahaha


No plans to notch the frame. These 37x12.5’s are actually narrower than my previous 315/75’s. So the frame rub really isn’t bad at all anymore. Very rarely am I at full lock. Plus, let’s get real, I’ll probably SAS in late 2018 haha. The steering rack wants to die and I’m sick of replacing it.

Thank you sir! I just like to have fun hahaha. Reallllyyy not looking forward to cutting the drivers side, but definitely looking forward to wheeling now that they won't rub all the time.
