4Runter's Maintenance Thread

Just wanted to post, since it's been a while! The rig is in the shop as we speak. Nothing exciting, just upkeep really. Here's a list of things being done:

1995 V6 with 130k on the clock
New tires (31x10.5 x15)
4 new shocks (bilsteins)
Moog rear coils
Two new CV's
Valve cover gaskets
AC repair! :bravo::bravo:

Maintenance completed since ownership:
oem fuel filter
oem plugs/wires
oem rotor/cap
new starter
AMS Oil in the tranny, rear end and TC
Wheel bearings up front
pads/rotors

Can't wait to get her back.. Then it is straight to the dealer to take care of that recall on the steering rod relay.

Hi.
I phoned Toyota today to see if my head gasket was convered under the recall but they said the gasket was not actually a recall it was a customer experience something or other..... Anyway....
They told me that I could get the relay rod done as that is a recall but I don't know what it is and they couldn't give me much info and I've noticed you're getting yours done.
Could you give me some more info on it please.

Dropped it off last night and they called me today.

One of my idler arms and a rear trailing arm are bent. They wanted $950 to replace. I asked them to just complete whatever is covered under the recall (steering relay rod and front alignment).

Picking it up tomorrow morning. Let's see how it came out.

I picked up the truck this morning. The new steering relay rod looks pretty good.

They didn't align the truck because the rear trailing arm and an idler arm are bent (They wanted $950 to repair that). Ill probably bring it to my guy some time down the line. All in all I'm happy.

Took it to the beach as son as I got it back.
