Oh I love the way these things work! I just feel like there might be an issue and I'm not sure what. Maybe without a muffler it's not liking minimal back pressure or something. It's weird, but man will she open up and scream!

So the surging I have been feeling is apparently my control solenoids in the transmission dying a slow death.... Today it slammed into gear several times and then at a traffic light it was like I did a neutral drop and then it wouldn't go into gear. After coasting into a restaurant and putting it in park, then back into gear it drove fine but my check engine light is on. Pulled the codes and I have P0974 and P0986, control solenoids S1 and SR.
So, can these be replaced easy enough?? Complete trans rebuild?? Anyone know or have any advice? [MENTION=66389]BlackWorksInc[/MENTION]

EH.. I mean you could just solenoids... but how many miles are on the transmission?
[MENTION=48414]LTD[/MENTION]C Is that light dot effect on your dash due to an LED upgrade?

199k as far as I know. Don't know if previous owner ever had work done. It works great other than the solenoid issue, wasn't sure though. Might have to see if I can find a used one with less miles. I'm sure rebuilding it will rape me in the ass!
 
I did the t1819 scion hu swap with significant radio reception loss. I used the antenna adaptor in the install. Any thoughts ?
 
Ive got a quick question for everyone. I am thinking about swapping my battery with a Diehard Platinum 31M. From what i can tell and what i have read, it should fit the stock mounting and the stock holder/clamps should work. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Also, what are the other two nubs on the battery? I see the two terminals, but i dont understand what the other two things are. Any help? Thanks!

the other two are for things like added lights or electronics

Everything fits tight, just had to cut off the lips on the sides of the stock (oem) plastic plate it sits on,due to being wider.

You can reuse all stock components.

Awesome. Cutting the lip shouldn't be too hard. I'm assuming it's metal right? Will cutting the lip mean I have to add some sort of side brace to it, or is it just such a tight fit with the bolts on the holder that it really isn't going anywhere?

And (I'm assuming you have one here) are the second extra posts really useful? What would they be used for? I have a compressor coming and I'm assuming it has to be wired to the battery. Would I keep it simple by wiring it to these secondary posts? Sorry about all of the questions man but I really appreciate it.

The plate below the battery is plastic, just trim off the 2 long sides for the extra lengh of the battery. After it's in, you'll know what to do (visual).
Hold down mounts all work like factory battery.

Your extra accessories mount to extra post, wing nut side. That is what it was designed for, yes your compressor.

Thanks for all your help! Looks like I will definitely be picking one of these up next week. Gotta love something that's relatively plug and play :D and the extra posts will be great for the compressor. Thanks again!
 
speaking of seized calipers, i was driving home from a quick trip to upstate new york this weekend and had what was definitely a sticky caliper, i had to apply the accelerator downhill just to maintain speed, was certainly annoying. once i got off the highway though, i went through like 6 or 7 cycles of braking to a stop then accelerating again, and it felt like it released and my MPG drastically improved per my scan gauge so its accurate. am i imagining things or is this possible?

not sure, i dont have any sticky calipers and my motor slows itself down big time coming downhill.
