What is not true about it; "Under Heat and Humidity Conditions" part? Most of us get heat exposure during summer. Are you saying this is regional? Please explain, because it is now how I read it in legal aspect of things. Time limitations is just what it says in primary coverage.

I think I misunderstood the "Unlimited Lifetime" portion of your original post. The way I read it implied that there was no time limit. So I was pointing out that while there is a generous amount of time to get it covered, it is infact finite.

Folks, take a deep breath.

Hot and humid as opposed to CRASH DAMAGE or abuse, etc.

Toyota KNOWS where all the eligible cars are because they have access to DMV records for recall notification purposes. They'll do it the same way and if you are the owner of record, you will receive a letter at your address of record.

The letter said all eligible cars will be covered through 2017, REGARDLESS of date in-service OR mileage. This means if you have a 2003 T4R with a 2003 date in-service, they'll still cover it through 2017.

If your date in-service is LESS than 10 years ago (regardless of the year of car but as long as it is one of the eligible cars/model years) you may also fall into secondary coverage. So, if your 2003 T4R was actually sold to the public for the first time in 2008 (*it could happen) or you had a 2007 camry or other covered vehicle bought in 2008, your date in-service would be in 2008 and secondary coverage would extend to 2018 (not 2017, like for everybody else).

When I called Toyota and asked about whether mine qualified for this warranty (posted in ***Cracked Dashboard Action Request***) they said over the phone it qualified. No need for an inspection to verify and I live in San Diego (mild climate).

By the way, not all 4th gens qualify as the OP states, only 2003-2005.

That is true... I have a feeling it will be extended later down the line like the Prius Combination Meters.
 
Just got the extended warranty letter from Toyota, without lifting the phone. A crack across the glove box cover is just developing. Can't wait to get it fixed.

10-4. We've received past mailings from Toyota USA, we got the accel. pedal one for our T4R. Just didn't know if I should be worried that I haven't received a letter yet.

Also, the replacements wont start until May if I understand correctly, is that right?

Got the letter for my 2004 a couple days ago. Crack starts on the left end and goes to above the A/C controls. Sticky too. Gotta love Texas heat and humidity, and Toyota for making it right. Original owner with no plans to sell.
 
I haven't received the letter but i called Toyota and they said my truck is one of those affected

My crack is only about 4" and it's exactly where the "break point" for the airbag is
 
No cracks in mine (yet), but it does seem to be getting sticky. Got my letter from Toyota. Gotta love it...10 years later and they are standing by their product, and I'm not even the original owner.
 
Went up to talk to Toyota about the dash problem today and mine will be replaced once parts are available in May. I bought mine used 6 months ago and they are going to replace it no questions asked.
 
Any suggestions on what else can be done while dash is being replaced?

I was wondering what else I should be considering to look at for repairs while the dealer has the dash off. I would think it would cut down on the cost of other repairs since the dash will be off. Any suggestions?
 
Most dealerships are not even aware of the program, i called they were clueless

had to make an appointment for Tuesday morning for them to look at the dash and then order the part

mark my words this program is going to be a cluster F

Probably will be, they're most likely not aware of it because it is a warranty enhancement and nothing has been released in regards to repairs yet. Supposedly next month the parts should be ready.
