Toyota of Huntington Beach did a great job on the dash recall replacement! Had a slight fitment problem and burnt LCD bulb. Brought it back for trimming, refitting (due to the aftermarket radio), and looking perfect now - all free of charge, "Goodwill." Free loaner, 2016 Corolla, both times. Kudos to Justin at THB Service Dept. for the outstanding service.

We had ours replaced by Florence Toyota; we did have to take it in to verify the need, then they ordered the dash. It took 2-3 months for it to come in, but heck, for a free dash? No big deal!
I'm quite pleased; like others I'm surprised for a no cost replacement for an '04. Really looks good, btw.

I'm surprised by this, my 03 was covered. They do need to visually inspect it first. Have you tried a different dealer?

I have been waiting for nearly one year now to hear from my dealer I 95 Toyota in Brunswick. I called them a month ago ago and they said I indeed was still on their waiting list and they had not yer received the dash. I called Toyota and they told me to try to get on a waiting list at a bigger dealer in a larger city. The nearest would be Jacksonville or Savannah, both one hour or so away. Has anyone else had to wait this long? I really don't want to have to start waiting at another dealer and have It installed 70 miles away. My dash is atrocious and I would skip it if I could.

i have been on the waiting list since 2 days after I receive the letter to get it replaced and my dealer told me a 2-3 month wait and now they are telling me 9-12 months wait, also I was told by another dealer that is half the size of my dealer that said they are getting them in 2-3 months so you are not the only one that has waited about a year.

Toyota of Boerne did mine. A real crap job. They did not put screws back in. Trim all wompus, covers not installed. I was able find the missing parts aournd the floor and was able to fix it all but just a pain. Now I have a hard drive like grinding noise behind the dash. I will fix this as well, but stay away from this place. I should have known better after my first encounter with them. You never learn anything the second time you are kicked by a mule.

Dash install delays
My dash was ordered 8/5/15 and it has still not arrived. I have made numerous inquiries and have been told there is a delay due to 500 dashes having to be scrapped due to damage in transit. That being said, the Toyota dealer in Austin says they have no idea when mine will come in as they have zero visibility into their supply chain. It is hard to believe a company as sophisticated as Toyota cannot say where in the production process my dash is. I called Toyota corporate. They contacted the dealer and got the same response. I requested some type of confirmation that my dash was actually ordered and got no response. I have met three different owners who got their dashes replaced within a few months of ordering. Very frustrating!

i got put on the list at toyota of Dallas back in september and still havent gotten my dash. i make sure to ask about it everytime im there getting parts and it started as a 2-3 month wait and now it at a TBD of sorts. the service manager showed me his list and it was at least 25 pages long in 8pt font. i was told they get 5-10 dashes in every tuesday but still no call to let me know i up on the list. im pretty frustrated by it.
Took my runner in to the official Toyota dealer last Saturday. They ran my Vin, told me that my car was under the dash crack warranty. They then took pictures to send to Toyota to confirm. Couple days later I received a call saying Toyota is shipping a new dash. That easy and I only had one 2-3 inch long crack on the passenger side of the dash. Go out and give it a try at your dealer, without seeing this post I wouldn't have known about the warranty and attempt a fix myself.

I agree that people should be grateful for the dash replacement but its been 16 months since my dad was told he qualified. He really wants to sell it to purchase a Tacoma, but selling a vehicle with cracking as bad as his will (i feel) severally decrease what someone would be willing to pay. Sure, he can explain the history and that Toyota will fix it, as some point, but a lot of people will look at it and make assumptions about how the rest of the truck has been treated. My $.02

Stopped by the local dealer yesterday. Quick 5 minutes of the service manager taking pictures of the VIN/dash and I was on my way. Was told 2.5 months before delivery. No worries here, the old dash can continue to crack away. I've lived with it for at least 4 yrs so 2.5 months is okay in my book.
Did you happen to ask them how many or if they'd even done any 4Runner's yet? I've been taking my time going in for the official inspection to give them a chance to learn on somebody else's truck

It's been almost a year and still no word from my Dealership. I normally call every 3-4 months to check status and they can't say anything other than its on order. I have the dash speaker if it matters? Also he said the southern region has 46k or more dashes on back order...not sure if that's true or not.
The dash is free, trying not to get irritated, but this is a little excessive. I think they knew how many dashes were damaged and should have been rolling the assembly line.
