4Th Gen Front End Clank Gone!

I had a front end clank for a couple of months. The clank appeared occasionally at first, only when I turned the wheel all the way or almost all the way. And only once, when I first would take off, and didn't hear it again until I would stop, park and get back to go again and had to turn the wheel again to get out of the parking spot. As time went, the clank started to happen turning left and right, and going forward and reverse. It also started to happen going over bumps and even when coming to a stop that.

Initially I had thought it was the front LCA bushings or front sway bar. I finally got tired of the clank, and I was ready to change the front LCA or bushings or sway bar bushings, I was even ready to fork over cash to fix the steering if needed....and wouldn't you know it a bolt was loose. The bolt that holds the LCA to the frame closest to the driver and the camber bolt. Come to think of it, this noise might have started shortly after an alignment....!

My 08 had a very similar noise that I could hear and feel through the floorboard. I looked around under the suspension but couldn't figure out what the cause was. It started happening more often and I took it to the dealer who rode along with me and I was luckily able to reproduce the the issue after finding a few bumps in the road. They ended up re-torquing the front suspension and removing a rock that was wedged somewhere between the body and frame and the clank was gone.

Glad you were able to fix it on your own.
