4th gen roofrack

I know someone on this forum has posted about prinsudesignstudio's roof rack, but I thought I'd post some pictures I got directly from Zach Scott from prinsudesignstudio. Looks like a cool alternative to a more traditional style rack, and I understand it's all aluminum and low profile. Maybe someone else has some more information they'd like to share. Anyone tried this rack and have an opinion?

A 3rd gen owner on here was not happy with the fitment. He basically said the fitment was way off and could not even install it on his 4Runner.

I'm in the market for a flat rack and considered it but once I read the 3rd post I quickly stopped looking at this rack.

I'm leaning strongly towards equipt1's 2.2m K9 rack.

Just installed on my rig. Sold the gobi stealth for it. For day to day use a flat rack suits me better.

Fit is great, low profile, much lighter then the gobi. Quiter at highway speed. One downside, and maybe not even an issue, is there is no support at mid length of the rack. Rack seems very sturdy.

Another downside, no instructions, but fairly easy to figure it out by looking at pictures online.

with everyone wanting roof top tents the is the way to go. I need to get 4x8 sheet of wood and this wood work properly straped. gobi needs to stop sueing everyone and make what the people want. If gobi makes a flat top then they are do the exact same thing.

That's odd. Prinsu doesn't make a 3rd Gen rack yet, it's in development though from what I hear.

dpodo The silver 4Runner in the photos is mine, the Blue one is Brian's. Our racks were the first two sold by Prinsu. The fitment is awesome, contours to the roofline perfectly. The support is awesome. It holds my CVT Mt. Thielsen tent (90-ish pounds) with a memory foam mattress added (another 30 pounds) up there full time, and supports me when camping and I'm close to 300 and 6'2".

During installation, Brian was walking around on it, standing on a single crossbar, and I'd put him at 175-185 pounds.

If a low profile flat top rack is what you're looking for, this is a no-remorse purchase, I can assure you. Everything else that is made to fit every vehicle out there will just end up looking like it doesn't belong up there.

Been debating about going for the Prinsu, was curious if anyone has any experience if it interferes with the gobi ladder?

Can't remember where I saw it but a member posted pictures showing that it did not interfere with Gobi ladder. That's going to be the setup I go with down the line, Prinsu rack with Gobi ladder.

On the Prinsu? Mine took 4 weeks earlier this summer. Contact Zach for current lead times.

Same here... I got mine in like 5 weeks... Unfortunately its taking me longer to find the time to install than it did for him to build and ship. Zach was nice to work with... answered several questions of mine via email before I ordered (including build and shipping times) and he had the rack to me when promised.

Awesome Possum. Spied some pics in the 5th gen section about 3 days ago with that setup and really digging it!
