4th Gen Suspension Options/FAQ

I currently have a 05 4Runner sr5 4wd. Putting 265/70-17 tires on, spidertrax spacers, and a 3/2 supreme suspension lift. Going to put kyg shocks and struts on all the way around since my suspensions 12 years old. Not looking to put 5100s on just because it's super expensive lol my question is, what should I do about springs?
I've read a little about moog 4runner 81045(rear springs) and 81090(front 4wd) and I've seen a lot of people saying they don't seat/fit well. So should I go with fj cruiser springs-moog 81081(rear) and 81108(front)? Any reviews on these? Are they going to fit without additional suspensionparts?

I think lots of people have used the term FJ coils to include the Moog springs as well. They are OEM spec and a heck of a lot cheaper then the Toyota ones. I thought about doing this exact lift, Moog and 5100's with a rear spacer, I have found a few people in that link that have done it but they are hidden in the many pages. The only thing I have found is they don't fit the rear perch very well, have to grind off a little of the spring end to seat it correctly.

Thanks brother. I'll make sure to let y'all know in DETAIL how it goes. I got my 3/2 lift already(supreme suspensions, not xornfed) so I'll be. Thing everhting else shortly. Then time to tear into the 4Runner haha I'll keep y'all posted
 
Searched, but didn't find a definitive answer.

As I'm waiting on my Bilstein 6112/5100 combo to arrive, I wondered what length setting I need to set the 6112's to in order to level out the body. I'll be running 5100s with stock springs in the rear for now (may do FJ's at a future date), so I don't expect a huge change in the back.

Has anyone done this combo and know roughly where to set the clip?

What a great thread. but I have read 8 pages and I have a headache...lol.

RIG: 2005 sport V8 4x4 135k with stock leaky XREAS with Daystar 2.5/1.5 spacers

I do 90% highway and 10% off road...usually beach sand.

I am not going to put any extra weight on in the future (heavy duty bumper or any other armor add ons) I am just keeping the bull bar.


From what I have gathered so far...stay away from Bilsteins. Roger that. It seems like the friendliest deal price wise...but not to many people were happy with the quality.

I plan on having this 4runner for as long as it lasts. (its why I bought the V8)

I like the ride height I currently have with the daystar kit.

Based off the hundreds of posts I have read, I assume the full OME setup is the way to go? I want to replace struts and shocks and rear coils. My UCA's are stock but if I wanted to replace those what brand would you go? If I don't replace, as long as my lift is under 3" then I'm good right?

Why did some of you take off the sway bar?

I have the brand new Eibach setup that I can do for you. I'm working with Eibach right now. It's their new offroad line, lifetime warranty.

that's a name/company I am not familiar with. how would you rate there quality? With the set up I described, would this suspension upgrade be enough on its own to be able to take out the daystar?

Still waiting on his reply as well from a few days back. other than your suspension, hows your 05' treating you?
 
I have 1.5 inch wheel spacers. If I get the toytec boss kit.. Set it at 2.5ish in the front. 2 inch springs in the rear. Can i fit AT3s 285/70/17 with out having to do major trimming?
