Where do I find the Toytec spacer lifts to buy?...

Hey Ark,
So I was reading through your build thread for your T4R, and I saw the "Second Round" step upgrades you did after buying it, and I completley want mine to look like that, with the addition of a bull bar. Mines stock right now and Im trying to do the whole FJ shocks in the front, with the 1/2 toytec front spacers with mud tires, but I cant find the 1/2 thick size on the Toytec website. What do i do? I see 2" and 3" and even 3/4" lifts, but none of the ones you have...Where can I find some?:dammit:

Another FJ to 4runner application. . . .BDS Suspension

So in doing some research I know I can fit particular OEM FJ cruiser suspension onto my 2006 4Runner, but the real question I was wondering which I have found no definitive answer for(and yes I looked). Is does this go for aftermarket suspension set ups too? Found a great company but they only had set ups for FJ cruiser and I was wondering if I bought this if it would go right into my 4runner with no problems? The main selling point behind this company is their no small print warranty, and they cover if anything breaks on it NO matter what. So can someone tell me if I buy this suspension for the 07 FJ it will directly onto my 06 4runner?

Finally ordered the Daystar kit. So now my question is with alignment, i've read time and time over to make sure to tell them to get the toe as far out as possible when aligning?

I will be taking it to my friend whose a tech at Toyota so i just want to make sure i tell him correctly so i dont have to do it twice.

What about 3" suspension? Still camber and toe at 0?

I'd say same specs for lifted/non-lifted. I believe factory specs are fine, but you may want to max out caster to give more clearance around the body mount. Here's some info photog posted over on Toyota120:

Alignment numbers that make me happy are:
Caster: 3.7 degrees +/- .2 degrees
Camber: - .4 degrees +/- .1 degrees

Some of the alignment folks want to add in a little more caster or camber to one side, to counter the effects of the crown in the roads. I like mine to be equal on both sides. If the road is crowned, I want to feel it in the steering wheel.

For some reason they list it as a 3/4" spacer (advertising net lift, but even their rep agrees that it provides 1" lift). This spacer is 1/2" thick and should give 1" lift. It's the one I had installed in the pic you referenced.

2007-2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser 3" lift kit 809H | BDS Suspension

Yes, most every aftermarket shock/coil setup is the same kit for the 4th gen 4runner and 2007-2009 FJ Cruiser. If you buy the kit for the 2007 FJ, it should bolt right up to the 4runner. Taking a guess, I'd say BDS doesn't list it for the 4runner because it is built to the FJ specs (shock valving, coil rates, etc) but it will still fit and work well on the 4runner.

Coils from a 2010+ FJ will work fine, but the shocks do require modification to the mounts in order to fit. I believe you have to grind down the lower mount on the front shock and enlarge the upper mounting hole for the rear shocks.

I have a 03 4x2 T4R sport with a blown xreas i have no suspension at this time... i found a set of 2007 FJ shock/struts and springs... they are only selling it as a whole not just the springs... can i use the FJ's shocks and struts along with the springs to just get my by for awhile.. or do i need to purchase specific shocks/struts for my T4R?

Yes, those will bolt right in.

there's a similar set here on CL for the FJ Bilstien struts/rear shocks. No springs. Its the FT springs that add the small amount of lift some people go for right?

My XREAS struts are starting to show signs of leaking so im trying to plan my attack in the next couple of months.

The FJ Bilstein shocks (2007-2009) are a pretty nice upgrade on the 4th gen. You are correct though, the lift is a result of the coils and not the shocks.

Yes and you might as well throw a topout spacer on the strut before you throw it in! Level it out while it's taken apart anyway.

To add to that link,,, if the axle is doesn't drop far enough to slip the spring and spacer in then remove the upper links where they connect to the axle. That will allow the axle to drop lower. You might also have to loosen one end of the panhard bar. Or you can use a bottle jack between the axle and the frame and push the axle down further. Make sure you don't stretch the brake lines.

Also, if you find the stabilizer bar link is just spinning when you loosen the nut. Use an allen wrench to hold the bolt still.

Clean off any rocks or dirt and the spring bucket and make sure the spring is seated properly before lowering the truck.

I did the rear end in my parents driveway in 30 minutes. Took the panhard bar off on the passenger side. its a fully threaded joint, make sure to have a socket or it sucked. I unhooked both sides of the sway bar from the end links and then unbolted the shocks. Once i did that i let the axle droop and lower side to side. Push down and pull out the spring. Works easy.
