I’ve been watching these forums for awhile and have enjoyed the info and insight.
First, I just got my T4R. It’s an ‘03 4.7L Sport 4WD. The best part is that it was free! My sister bought a 2019 and was planning on giving it away so I graciously offered to take it off of her hands. She bought it used from an individual and didn’t do anything to it and doesn’t have much knowledge on the history. I do have some questions that I need help with.
It was lifted when she bought it a few years ago, but the shocks are blown and I need to figure out how much it was lifted in order to get the right equipment purchased/installed. I’m completely green when it comes to this stuff so I’m still trying to get my bearings. Also, the funny thing is that the previous owner also put 33” x 8.5” wide tires on the stock wheels (7.5” wide) so Discount Tire won’t even touch them until the proper tires are put on the rims or new wheel/tire set is purchased.
The main thing is trying to replicate the lift that is current installed and how to figure that out. I don’t see anything identifying on the existing shocks that could give me insight. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place. Any guidance would be appreciated!

2003 Limited V8. Bilstein 5100 all around (lowest/stock perch setting on front), OME 887 front springs (used, already settled), Toytec Superflex rear (new, not settled), 5th gen TRD Off-road wheels, 285/70/17 Falken Wildpeak MT tires. Stock UCAs. Only rubbing was front fender liners. A little massaging with a heat gun and we are good to go.

I did not measure before/after. I will say that with 217,000 miles the stock front springs were likely a bit tired.

What are your long term thoughts on the Eibach kit? Where did it excel and where did it leaving you wanting more? Reviews are few and far between but it’s on my short list.

IDK I would consider it long term but they've been on about 6 months now. I think for the price they're perfect. I got the whole kit for about $650 on sale. I only had my car for a month before they went on and my only comparison are the original springs and shocks(so miles better). I bought them knowing that in a year or two I'd be upgrading to something once I had more time to actually go on trails and road trip. I think for an every day driver or camping vehicle they're great. I've talked to a few people who have had 5100's and these shocks and they say they're nearly identical. Now, I do find myself wanting a bit more lift. But by no means am I regretting my decision. My next set-up will probably be bilstein 6112 upfront and fox 2.0/2.5 in the rear. I am interested in the response too. I also have OME 883 with Billstein struts and shocks. I originally read that the Cruiser shocks would lift the rear 3/4 inch. I ordered and returned the OME 895e—for the Cruiser and 4 Runner because they lifted the rear 3”. I ordered the OME 895 hoping that even though they were a little longer due to an additional wrap they are softer and I hoped they would give me 1.5-2 inches but wow they were even worse. My thought now is to find an OEM Cruiser spring or look at air bags or both.

Suspension and towing
So I have read through a good portion of all of this and I haven't found an answer to my question. So I am looking at doing the fox 2.0 coilovers in front and then fox struts and springs in the back (the kit from yotamafia). I plan on putting 255 80's on 17in TRD wheels but I still would like to maintain towing capability on my v8. Is the suspension going to change my ability to do so?

Alright guys i have a question. First let me state what im working on: 2004 4Runner V8 2WD with 147,XXX on her clock. Its my daily/commuter so far but im looking to lift it 3 inches. Reason being is the tires i have on rub at full turn. The front struts are blown so it lands hard when i go over a speed bump. If im going to replace i might as well upgrade. That being said, i was wondering if any of you guys had any experience with a Dobinsons lift kit? Or would you have any suggestions on a kit. Any help is appreciated!!
