4th gen to early 5th gen move

So, my truck got destroyed yesterday. It was a meticulously maintained 04. I would probably look for another, but after the way it gave its self to protect us I'm definitely looking for another. I'm seriously thinking about getting a 10 or 11.

I've been active in the 4th gen section and don't know much about the 5th. What are the biggest pluses and minuses compared to an 04? Anything I should pay particular attention to when shopping. Probably look at an 11 this week.

I was in the same situation except my switch was from an '03 Sport with 271,000 miles that needed a $2100 ac repair to a 2010 Limited. So far am loving it. Great sound system, nav, better visibility, back up camera, leather seats and power everything, plus about 2mpg better mileage. No v-8 (I do miss that sound) but glad every day i drive it that I made the switch.

Thanks. Sounds like a win. I'm not happy losing mine. It was a great truck. Changed the head gaskets and the motor was super clean.

no V8, and no Torsen center diff unless it's a Limited. apart from that i think the 5th Gen is an improvement in every way.
