4th gen trunk speaker upgrade

Upgraded my HU about a year ago and now looking to upgrade my speakers. I have the JBL synthesis system and have the amp bypass harness installed so front and rear speakers are running off of the HU amp. I want to upgrade the front and rear speakers and continue running them through the HU. I lost the center channel, sub and trunk speakers when I bypassed the JBL amp and I'm not ready to drop the cash on a new amp to get all 10 speakers working but I'm thinking I can put some components in the back seat and run the tweeters into the trunk.

Has anyone done this? Good idea, bad idea? I read a few threads that say the tweeters in the trunk can be a little harsh so I'm wondering if there are any recommendations for a component system with a warmer or more mid level tweeter. Down the road, I want to throw in an amp to get my center channel and sub back, but not ready to do it just yet so I'm hoping this will give me some better sound in the meantime.

Any brand recommendations for front or back are appreciated. I had some cheap Pioneers in an older vehicle that I was happy with but beyond that, I have no brand preference/loyalty. One thought would be to get a cheaper component set for the back seat/trunk since I could potentially replace the trunk tweeters when I get an amp down the road.

Thanks in advance!
