4th Gen V6 TRD Supercharger

This might be in a thread somewhere, but I can't find it. Does anyone know when TRD will opt for more stuff for the 4th Gen? The supercharger would be nice after a few saved paychecks. Hey, I've lived on Army MRE's for 6 months. I can cut back on Hamburger helper of it means new mods....

From what I've heard, TRD hasn't really been up with the V6's, but on the other hand, neither has anyone else!! K&N only came out with one of their million-mile air filters late last month and just last week they released an AirCharger kit for the V6's (check the products link, K&N AirChargers page...V6 03 4Runner is third from the bottom...can see a picture and installation instructions!

So I guess we'll just have to be patient. Keep your eyes on the "ascessories" and the "performance parts" forums because there are lots of V6 owners out there looking for the same parts. Perhaps in the meantime, consider some engine-nonspecific upgrades or mods instead!!

Simple physics.
To get more air, open up the filter particle holes The larger the gap the more air it can go thru. Now for anyone that does high performance stuff this is ideal. But any vehicle that sees the element of severe dirt/dust/sand, you're just asking for it.

I used to use aftermarket air filters all the time back when I did high performance stuff on the streets where the dirt/dust/sand elements were not present.

But now that I have the 4runner I have no intentions of using any aftermarket filters. Ofcourse this is a personal preference so more power to those that want to get em and use em

I would pretty much guarantee that you will not see any "significant" performance gains from the airfilter. If you're looking for performance, I would recommend the following:
Exhaust,Headers. Then build the engine and if you're lazy, then you can just use some nos or just go forced induction (SC or turbo - your pick).

If you really want to do some intake stuff, I'd suggest doing a deckplate mod.

To be honest, I haven't taken my 4Runner off-roading once so far. Yeah, I bought the car to carry me between college and home comfortably. So I'd say I accomplished that much. As far as hiway driving goes, I think the filter and the AirCharger are a good bet. Once I have a few solid scractches in the paint and some hard stains in the carpeting, then maybe I'll subject my baby to the elements. Until then...I'm going to pamper her like crazy!!
