4WD selector switch light/Rear window light switch replacement

I am happy to report that since I originally posted this thread almost 6 years ago, that the lights still work and I haven't had to change a bulb in that panel since...knock on wood

I’m thinking of changing the interior lights in my 4Runner. For the 4x4 switch, is it necessary to remove all of the paneling in that previous link? Or can I just remove the HVAC panel and then the left AC/vent panel with the rear window and 4x4 switch?

i.e. do I need to remove the paneling around the armrest/shifter and the paneling around the steering wheel/column?

Window Button Switch Lights

I just purchased my 1st T4R (2004) and I am wondering if the window buttons light up? Actually, I know that the drivers AUTO button does, but it is flashing and I wonder if a bulb can be replaced, as well as the others (if they have lights)? Thanks

Need to replace the 4wd switch and rear window light bulbs. Can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial? Ive done the HVAC bulbs and installed a new head unit but Im not seeing how to access the 4wd swich and rear window bulbs. I cant seem to find anything searching.

Any tips or links?
