Did a search, but came up short anyway here is my situation. I had to switch to 4LO and upon switching back to H4 the 4LO indicator is still on. Somehow it did'nt seem to make to transfer back to H4. I tried what the manual recommended by driving a short distance in forward or reverse and trying it again, but still no luck. The 4LO light is still on and it beeps and flashes when you start the car. I have an 05 Sport 4WD by the way. Has anyone experienced this?

Just throwing this out there but is it in neutral when you shifted back? if not put it in neutral and shift back and see if that works. if it was in neutral when you did this then im stumped.

Yes I came to a full stop and then put it in neutral when I tried to shif back. The 4LO indicator is still lit and when I drive the car it definitely feels like it is indeed still in 4LO by the way the gears shift and the sound of the engine etc.

I took an indepth look at my repair manual and there is a section on the Transfer System with a table of symptoms and possible causes. In my case it lists the order of probability of each cause as follows:

Symptom: Shift from 4WD(L4) to 4WD(H4) impossible

Suspected area:
1. Four wheel drive control switch
2. Wire harness
3. Four wheel dirve control ECU

I called the dealership yesterday and I am bringing the car in. I am having it towed since it quite a distance to drive in 4L0. Lucikly when I bought the car I also purchased an extended warranty so the repair will be covered and they even pay for the towing and rental if car has to stay overnight. I will post the results once I get the car back in case someone else runs into the same problem in the future. From the lack of comments it looks like this could possibly be a first.
